I still can't seem to wrap my head around how a guy so talented is so awful in his own end.

It's like he just doesn't understand how to read and play defense and he was drafted 8 years ago, played with a very good team who stressed defense first and got training from the ground up on how to play defensively.

It's mind boggling because he could be such an elite defender if he learned the defensive side of the game. Instead he is simply a glorified roller hockey player.

well my +/- at least isn't plummeting anymore, I've actually gained a bit on it!

and Tim Thomas has been terrible since his first game, pulled in both (though he was injured in this game. Still, 2 goals on 5 shots in 7 1/2 minutes? ugly).

Claude Giroux has yet to score a point in 4 games. Same with Yakupov but I don't know how many games Edmonton has played.

1st round pick: Giroux, 1 point in 5 games
3rd round pick: Getzlaf, 2 points in 4 games
5th pick: Nail Yakupov, 0 points.


jeeze, that's terrible from my first three offensive picks (2nd and 4th picks were Jimmy Howard and Kari Lehtonen)

I would like to make a point to say that the total number of saves should not be included in the scoring. I know that it may sound like I'm bitching cuz I lost that particular catagory. I'm just saying with the style some teams play, not many shots maybe getting through to the tender. Besides, we have the gaa already.

Interesting to note that the people in 2nd-5th were all in the last 5 picks of the draft. Maybe drafting high at the beginning isn't as big of a benefit.

Yahoo Sports has introduced an IR+ roster spot for Fantasy Hockey this season.

Players eligible for this position will have the following injury designations:

Injured Reserve
Day-to-Day

This roster position is in addition to the current IR spot, for which a player is eligible only if they are on the official NHL injured reserve list.

Commissioners can add this roster spot by using the Edit Roster Settings tool. They may add up to five IR+ roster spots.

I don't like to change any of the settings after the season has started. You have 3 IR spots if you need them...day-to-day you're just gonna have to deal with. I've found that guys are listed D2D after they've returned to the line-up anyway. And there's nothing that says you can't have a player in your group of starters that listed as day-to-day.

Upon further review, and after realizing it happens way to often for salary cap reasons, I'm going to add ONE (1) IR+ spot.

I see no problem with this, so unless someone is very convincing in his objection, this trade will go through. The players will be available to their new teams on Monday.
