The Q
Hoop’s Villain, Reality’s Hero
I'm not a Spurs, Leonard, or Los Angeles fan (where he replied really wants to go), so I would love San Antonio to keep him and for him to keep sitting out. He used the injury excuse the whole season (which is OK if he didn't asked to be traded) and didn't really talk to anybody about anything. If he stayed this year and didn't play, it would be so out in the open that he would have no injury excuse.
I guess my problem is not so much that he's discontent with the Spurs. Nor that he wants to be traded, but I don't like the reality that players can shape where they are traded to. I think that lessens what the team can get and uses their leverage when they were plenty fine signing the contract in the first place.
This is changed if Leonard signed a contract with his former team and then it was traded to the Spurs, but if he was extended, he voluntarily chose to stay there longer and I don't think he needs to stay there forever, but I feel that some try to force their way to a team and that hurts the trading team.
Plus, for selfish reasons, I would like another team to not be vying for the Jazz spot in the playoffs.
SA dug their own grave with their sanctimonious nonsense attacking Leonard all season.
