And apologies BTW. I thought you were razzing me until I started looking into this...

STILL don't want LeClown, though...

Are you sure? You seem kind of conflicted about it.

Yes...

CLEARLY conflicted...

...about the exact amount of PARSECS I want this fool to distance himself from my team...

6 finals losses tells me we don't need him... :D

I just wish you'd said something about it before. I'm kind of in shock.

Over at a Celtics fan site, this is a deal that was spiff-balled:
  • Marcus Smart (sign and trade)
  • Jaylen Brown
  • Semi Ojeleye
  • picks
^ The economics of it work decently well for a team that would be rebuilding (San Antonio would most definitely be rebuilding, not reloading in the wake of this)... and Brown is a fine prize apple. Better by himself than any of Kuzma, Ingram, Wiggins... or just about any other young prospect I've seen floated.

I would laugh and move on

Players will always be more important than picks. You have no idea what you are getting with picks.

What is the substantially better offer you see out there?

I would take Lonzo/Ingram and Kuzma. Brown and picks is too much risk. Players will always be better than picks, no matter how many you throw. In the Laker deal you could have two potential AS’s. You have Brown and who knows

If you're that high on players... Brown is the best player you name out of that bunch... with just as much upside as any of those other guys too.

The Lakers were a bad basketball team last season.

LET THE GAMES BEGIN!
If the lakers do manage to swing the deals they are talking about that will bring them Leonard, James and George, things will be very interesting in the West.

Brown just isn’t enough. Great potential but if it’s a player and picks, it’s Tatum or Kyrie and Kyrie with those injuries

I could see anyone but Tatum being on the trade block. For the Celtics, it's best to not trade him. Horford still has two years left on his deal and is going to make a lot of money; the Spurs aren't going to want that.

They can't trade Brown and picks though.

Boston's roster has 3 big money players and a bunch of guys on rookie deals. Either Kyrie, Hayward or Horford needs to be at the center of the deal to make the money work. That is, unless Boston is willing to come off of like all their young talent.

I feel including Kyrie (whom has 1 year left and has not given a clear indication he's re-signing in Boston) would fit the trade perfectly for Kawhi (whom has 1 year left on his deal).

Yeah, Wilbon just said it would probably by Kyrie to match salary.

Fat Ass ,Windhorst, just made a good point.

Kawhi can't sign an extension until 6 months after the trade.

So, everyone will have to take a risk.

He also said where Kawhi goes may block, not enhance, Lebron's choice.

I'd have a hard time imagining a scenario where Kawhi getting traded to the Lakers don't make them more enticing.

Does this make the Pachulia cheap shot the most impactful in history? He did not just end a series, he ended one of the most successful franchises.

I'm not a Spurs, Leonard, or Los Angeles fan (where he replied really wants to go), so I would love San Antonio to keep him and for him to keep sitting out. He used the injury excuse the whole season (which is OK if he didn't asked to be traded) and didn't really talk to anybody about anything. If he stayed this year and didn't play, it would be so out in the open that he would have no injury excuse.

I guess my problem is not so much that he's discontent with the Spurs. Nor that he wants to be traded, but I don't like the reality that players can shape where they are traded to. I think that lessens what the team can get and uses their leverage when they were plenty fine signing the contract in the first place.

This is changed if Leonard signed a contract with his former team and then it was traded to the Spurs, but if he was extended, he voluntarily chose to stay there longer and I don't think he needs to stay there forever, but I feel that some try to force their way to a team and that hurts the trading team.

Plus, for selfish reasons, I would like another team to not be vying for the Jazz spot in the playoffs.
