Jordin Tootoo unlikely to return

Tootoo’s agent, Kevin Epp, said it appears the popular spark plug winger will not re-sign with the Predators before unrestricted free agency starts July 1. On that date, Tootoo can sign with any team in the league without compensation for the Predators. “We talked to Nashville prior to the draft and it sounded like it wasn’t going to be a fit,” Epp said. “Jordin would have loved to stay there and play, but I don’t think the opportunity was going to be there for him.”
