It works as a generic "We need exotic and expensive materials"
But when you give the actual rock you are mining in your movie the proper name 'unobtanium', I just facepalm.

An iceberg sank the real Titanic. It took the Avengers to sink my Titanic. Everyone here at Lightstorm Entertainment salutes your amazing achievement. You've shown that the movie industry is not only alive and well, it's bigger than ever!

Avatar wasn't even a very good movie. The visuals were stunning and it was the first movie to do a great job with 3D. The story was pretty bland though. I think scheduling all these sequels will turn out to be a misfire. Could be wrong.
Lol
It kinda was Dances with Wolves in space.
Tanka ta Tanka.
I’ve seen this take and I just wanted to share my thoughts on it. It's been a long long time since I saw "Dances with Wolves," but I would never ever call "Avatar" a rehash of "Dances with Wolves" because in "Dances with Wolves" the natives seemed like real people, and not just an avenue for the white protagonist to self-actualize.
Like, they had actual lives outside of Kevin Costner, so he genuinely had to work to gain their respect, as opposed to in "Avatar" where they were so clearly conceived by white people for the benefit of the white characters only.
The only issue I had with Dances With Wolves was the length, great if you're watching it at home, but in the theater, at the end it was like Dances In Line For The Urinal.A lot of people made fun of Dancing with Wolves because it's crunchy granola leanings but I thought it was a decent for those reasons. Most of the Indian characters had real personalities with different attitudes and stories.

Congratulations to Avengers Endgame on becoming the new box-office king.

He definitely can pull off a blockbuster.I agree. way, way overrated. Even the 3D stuff wore off in interest as the movies progressed.
That said James Cameron made the Terminator movies, Aliens and Titanic so I like his work.
Russo Brothers said:To @JimCameron- you're a monumental reason why we fell in love with film in the first place. Thank you for always inspiring us and opening the world’s eyes to what’s possible. We can't wait to see where you take us next... [Terminator] "Holy Sh*t!!!" [Aliens] "Holy Sh*t!!!" [Titanic] "Holy Sh*t!!!" [Avatar] "Holy Sh*t!!!"
I like James and several of his movies. He says there are other stories to tell. Do we really need 5 Avatar movies? Hypocrite!
Avatar 2, the sequel is set for December 2020, with Avatar 3 set for December 2021, and then part four due in December 2024, and the fifth (and final?) entry due in Decemeber 2025
If there are "Other stories to tell". Tell them, and stop trying to make Blue Pocahontas happen.
Cameron is also way too stuck on trying to keep 3D a thing.
3D never made anything great.
Gimmick.....
Way, way, way, way overrated.
They are somewhat "neat" during the credits but I forgot about it maybe 10 mins into the movie.
The old 3-d movies spent their time throwing things at the screen which no one wants to see again.
IMAX is kind of cool.
I've only seen one but it was Mario Andretti's Speed Vision. It was like it hung in the air.
