I'm starting to think there's a good chance we are going to lose Jeremy Maclin and I really think we need to get him signed because he is one player who has bought in. I think letting him walk could further damage the locker room and Chip Kelly's appearance to free agents.

Been thinking about this to. I don't think Chip values Maclin at 11-12 mill a year. I think he is going to go with Mathews as his number 1 reciever next year and by all accounts the kid shoukd be able to handle it. I don't like huff but chip does, huff becomes the slot reciever and they draft another reciever for depth. Cooper stays. Just my gut feeling

By all accounts? The kid had a real nice rookie season but being the #1 option is an altogether different thing.

Even so, who is your #2 and #3? Neither Cooper or Huff do anything for me.

I hear ya on Huff and Cooper but unfortunately our opinions mean nothing to Chipper. Huff will play a lot more this year, Kelly has a soft spot for Ducks. Cooper Im not the biggest fan of but he still did catch 55 balls last year (if he would have caught 56 we would have won in San Fran). As a number 3 option he is serviceable. I think they will draft a receiver day 2 also.

No reason for worry chicken little's. We were not that far apart on the reported deal. They just need to meet in the middle and the deal is done. I would be more worried about trading one of the best RB's in the game. Then wanting to replace him with a washed up Frank Gore.

Gore was far from washed up, is he on the decline, yes but if I read right he averaged more yards per carry then shady last year

Remember with Gore he is not going to be the feature back. Chippy is going to use a back by committee. Which mean you are looking at Gore maybe getting 150-175 carries. Polk maybe the same, then mix in Sproles and possibly a rookie.

Twelve out of Seventeen games he was pedestrian at best. You take out the outburst in the last two games of the season last year. It was his worse season since his rookie year. The FA options at RB are horrible imo. Give me Duke Johnson or Ameer Adbullah in the 3rd or 4th round of this years draft over any FA option available.

Might get both a FA and a rookie. I like Chris Polk but the guy is hurt all the time. Essentially they have Sproles and a couple of practice squad guys. I wouldn't doubt they address RB in both FA and the draft.

Your looking at him as a featur ed back, feed him the rock all day long. Eagles are moving in a different direction I think and like others said, less carrys and more rb by committee which I think on a short one to two year deal is fine.

Herremans has signed with the Colts. And Shady has reportedly agreed to a huge contract extension with Buffalo once the trade is official on Tuesday. Jeff McClane of the Inquirer tweeted that he was told it was a "whopper" of a contract.
