You guys picking Texas and ND to be a good game. Please remember. Texas has a choice between two qb's. One that couldn't hit the side of a barn from 10 feet, and another who has never played a down in college before. Unless the rest of the team has vastly improved, Im Afraid ND will win this game fairly easily. ND is a pretty good football team. We aren't there yet.

Appalachian State @ Michigan

Never said it had to be a current game.
Fine, be that way. Then I pick:

2009 Michigan State vs. Central Michigan

Is that really the worst you can come up with? 2009 Michigan State beat Michigan and Central Michigan finished the year ranked.

But, in keeping with the OP, I'd watch USC/Alabama. I have high hopes for USC.

All of them. Because I pay too much for Directv to only be able to watch 1game. The fact that you made me think otherwise kind of pisses me off.

Okay, then: Michigan State at Michigan October 30, 2004.
Not allowed to pick your favorite team. It's in the OP or else I would have chosen Michigan State @ Michigan October 17, 2015

Doesn't matter, Central Michigan.

And if we're going that direction, Michigan beat Michigan State in 2007 after App State beat us, then went to the Capital One bowl, beat a top 15 Florida team and finishes the season ranked in the top 20.

Well in Michigan world, a top 5 team losing to an FCS school is equal to an unranked team losing to a mid-major. It's not like Michigan lost to a mid major the year before or anything.

Neither one of those games were opening week. Samurai found a successful loophole. You two? Not so much
Where does it say it has to be a game from the opening week? It stated, "if you could only watch 1 game on opening weekend(not including your favorite teams game) which game would you choose to watch? "

That says nothing about a game from opening weekend.

The coach who lost to App State is gone, the coach who lost to CMU is still there.

Only in your world does losing to an FCS school equate to losing to a top 25 FBS team. Again, that's pretty bad if that's the best you can come up with for MSU.

Didn't Michigan State lose to Central in back-to-back years?

Mea culpa.
