In Beltre we trust.
When I saw it live I just assumed it was Beltre, because he's been carrying the Rangers all year.
Career, Murphy .276 .338 .443 .781 WAR 5.2 (last 3 years) 7.0 (last 4 years)
Gentry .270 .345 .352 .697 WAR 6.1 (last 3 years)
Interestingly similar ... and while some embrace career numbers ... the way hitting hot streaks go I think only the last 2 - 4 weeks are relevant to what you can project in the next 2 - 4 weeks.
And the next 2 - 4 weeks is all I care about.
he had a very good may
It was a post in favor of Gentry not vice versa, Murphy has brought more power in the past, but doesn't change the fact that Gentry surpasses him in WAR despite less than half the PAs
Murphy's SLG% is only about 15 points higher than Gentry's this year
i am so glad that i dont have to make those decisions. i can watch and complain lol

I'm sick of this pro-Murphy crap. Those of you who go to church and love him, the guy is the weak link on this team. Get over it....
Thank you. I go too and I'm no fan.I go to church ... and am one of his biggest critics here.
he has been bad kinda good and then really bad i just hope he gets better or wash quits running him out there.
He's had a few moments but on the whole he's just been flat out bad. I don't think his PT will be greatly reduced but I am hoping something clicks and he figures out of his slump.
Yea ... I read you right ... I just am not a fan of career numbers ... even cumulative WAR. But I see the comparison you were making and agree that with less than half the PT that Gentry out produces Murphy.
Evan Grant @Evan_P_Grant I'll just go ahead and say it for you: Great roster utilization by Rangers manager Ron Washington today, especially pinch-running Rosales.
Give me a break wide load.
Moreland could have scored in that scenario, gimme a break Grant
