Last years story, with the payroll of Oakland, and the payrolls of Texas and LAA, remains one of the greatest story in recent sports memory.

Winning an unfair game.

Texas is a joke. Not the state of Texas, but the Rangers and their fanbase, namely those that compromise LoneStarBall; those that refuse to give the Oakland A’s credit for not only 1999-2006, but also 2012 and 2013. They have an insane payroll and couldn’t win the AL West against a team with the 2nd lowest payroll in baseball. Fast-forward to 2013 and they have been in denial all year that this Oakland team is still winning; they look at their payroll and can’t understand their massive 2.5 game lead.

Honestly, never cared about the Rangers. I actually used to enjoy watching them play and the exciting games in Texas. But after reading LoneStarBall over the past 2 seasons they are right up their with the SF Giant fanbase.

Ok, just had to get that out. I won’t mention that terrible writing-stereotype-throwing-elitist-preaching-denial-ridden LoneStarBall ever again, just needed to vent. That payroll, that writing, ahhhh.

He has been platooning them. But platoon's suck.

We've gone all season waiting for Murphy to get "on" ... past the point where we can expect anything but a marginal good game every week or two. He's gone at the end of the year and will not make a difference getting TEX to the post season.

Since the ASB Gentry is hitting .326 .429 .435 .864 while Murphy is hitting .237 .301 .408 .709. In addition Gentry is the superior base runner and the best TEX OF.

Murphy is a career .280 hitter ... last year was well above that and this year way below ... but after this year he is gone.

I'm not opposed to playing Murphy but he hasn't earned the amount of playing time he's still getting. He should be playing less that's all.

In may he hit .286 with an .846 OPS. He had a very respectable may, not a great one. That said, he's been awful outside that and one respectable month isn't reason to take playing time away from a currently superior producer. He's had his chance.
