Is this just a ploy to get the big offers? Will he remain in Dodger blue? Who needs him the most? What kind of contract numbers are we talking about here?

Let the speculation begin!

This is 100% about money. He'll be wearing dodger blue next season.

Hope there is a massive bidding war and the dodgers are forced to keep matching. Might see two $30M pitchers on that staff LOL

Will be interesting to see where he goes. Don't see him back with the Dodgers next year.

I suspect it will be the dogs or the Giants. It will cost either team a boat-load of cash, though.

I'm all for paying it not only because of the caliber of pitcher he is, but good-goddamn!! Would that ever be a steal from the Dodgers!!

He signed with the Royals because they offered him more than anyone else did. He has said he does not care where he goes, he will always take the most money.

Why wouldn't he do this?

Well, loyalty, wanting to be the true Ace of the staff, love for a childhood team, wanting to finish what was started, pick a team in a state with no income tax, pick a team with coaches or players you want to make better or have a better chance of winning the world series, you know, real person feelings.

If it's not the Dodgers then he will go to the highest bidder. He really liked being with the Angels but took the most money anyway.

The bolded is the only thing that the Royals bring to the table that the Giants and Dodgers do not bring.

The prob is that the Royals simply cannot offer the same level of money that the dogs and Giants can.

It's just how crazy how out of line his 2009 and 2015 seasons are with the rest of his career (which is still very good).
