I'm always open to trying new things, not sure if anything I've tried qualifies. I'm a big fan of any kind of shellfish or seafood. Also love things like head cheese, rillettes, foigras (not weird I know), chicken liver mousse/pate, and pretty much any kind of sausage. One of the more unique things I finally got to try is roasted bone marrow. That was freaking awesome.

Forgot to mention, I've also eaten and enjoyed plenty of wild game too like squirrel, rabbit, dove, and duck. Wild duck has a different flavor than farm duck.

Bone Marrow is amazing!!! Anthony Boudain doesn't call it "The Butter of the Gods" for nothing  :suds:

One thing he goes on about that I intend to try is crab fat when you pull the shell off and dip your bread in it. If I ever get out to the coast that's a for sure try for me.

There's isnt a whole helluva lot on just one.

To me it's more like pork, but if nobody told you it was squirrel, you could think it was chicken.

My buddy likes to make squirrel n dumplins. I've never complained.
TB sent me this recipe and I have yet to try it. It sounds great and TB vouched for it.

Rabbit and Squirrel Sauce Piquante

I hear ya. I'm always game for wild table fare. I've had duck, turkey, wild hog, bear, moose, and a few others. Good shit. Oh and possum.

I bought some ostrich burgers once at the local earth fare, that was pretty tasty too.

The name more people might know it as is Tomalley...Its also found in lobsters. You know when you crack open a lobster and it has all that tasty soft greenish stuff inside? That's the tomalley of a Lobster. Crabs have similar...

I've had most of what's been listed in this thread, and my unique contribution to it is fugu.

What was that like? I've heard it doesn't really have much flavor-wise, its just the numbing effect and the danger of it people like.

I'd agree with that description. They cut it really thin too, so there's just not much to it. The tingling was kind of wild, though.

If I knew what some of the shit I've eaten was during trips through Asia, I'd probably blow all of our minds here. Then I'd probably throw up.

If we're talking favorite, though, it'd be Japanese red snapper, nigiri style, with a bit of oba leaf between the rice and fish, a tiny slice of lemon (no skin or rind), and a sprinkle of coarse salt.

If I was forced to pick one thing to eat for the rest of my life, that might be it.

I've never tried those, but have heard quite a bit about them. I'd give them a shot for sure. Do you dip them in a sauce or anything like that? Or just eat them plain?
Reminded me of a beefy calamari that was cooked perfect. They were served with a dill/ranch dip, but were just fine plain.
