Why would we let Antonio Gibson go in FA after this year?

Because we will not be able to afford him. Be real here, the guy is a bonafide starter in this league. He will move on to that role with another team making very good money. He is not going to settle for a backup role in WASH after his first contract expires. Seriously doubt we tag a player like Gibson so he will inevitably be gone.
