I think it's good that DAT sets goals for himself. What if this statement inspired DAT because of everyone's reaction to it?

Beyond Mariota, DAT will be the best player on that field. At his best, Stanford won't be able to slow him down.

DAT and Oregon will be smiling at the end of the game when they have more points than Stanford. Doesn't much matter what the actual point totals are.

Its never a good idea to open your mouth and give the team yet another reason to get hyped up and this, to me, is a big sign of disrespect and may just come back to haunt Oregon.

I don't think it is equivalent to calling his shot. Oregon's offense very well could put up 40. If he said, "I will rush for 250 and get 5 touchdowns," and delivered, it would be like calling his shot.

I don't see what the issue is. Stanford is going to bring their A game regardless of what DAT says.

Ebron said before the State game on Saturday that "It's not a hostile environment. It's just another game. Ain't nobody worried about N.C. State. Ain't nobody care about N.C. State."

And then this
Carolina still won the game and Ebron still had 9 catches for 70 yards.

IMO, DAT and Oregon are going to be the same way because both teams are going to be playing hard and it's not like these comments are going to make Stanford play any harder or differently than they would've.

Maybe, but don't think it will matter. IMO, Stanford is in no position to beat the Ducks, barring massive Oregon turnovers and mistakes.

I like to see the kids do their talking on the field..... Good coaches usually keep a lid on the talk before the game. Helfrich has not proved himself a good coach as of yet, IMHO.

Bo Wallace thought his team could score on anyone, but his words changed likely changed that outcome. They rpobably would not have won the game, but Bama would not have gone lights out to the end to stop them from scoring. funny how just the right little thing can supercharge a situation into being a difference in a game. Just one tiny little word or set of words that shows immense disrespect(such as this surely did to the Stanford defense) can be all it takes to make this a closer game. But do you think it actually affected the game? Alabama probably tried to keep them from scoring at the end of the game but it's not like that affected the actual results. Do you think Stanford is not going to try to keep Oregon from scoring every time their on defense anyway, at least until the game is out of hand?

Maybe since he said that we'll see Oregon go for it on fourth down if their up 35-17 with a few minutes to go in the fourth quarter.
