nope .. but I did spot Jr in traffic leaving the Bush league race with his girlfriend .. peeps were about to run him off the rd hollering at him

I tried to get a few pics but they were so blurry i erased them all.. went to the oyster pub on beachside for dinner. . Great people watching there maybe tomorrow ill ride up town on the bike and get some

Hey ktg8trgrl. I have on my bucket list a trip to see the 500 in person. I have heard about the traffic and parking issues before. Seems to me, the crowds are as obnoxious as ever and along with no safer barriers, the management company of Daytona has many more issues to contend with apparently.

Hey ktg8trgrl. I have on my bucket list a trip to see the 500 in person. I have heard about the traffic and parking issues before. Seems to me, the crowds are as obnoxious as ever and along with no safer barriers, the management company of Daytona has many more issues to contend with apparently.

Just plan top get there early and stay late..don't get in a big hurry to go anywhere because that isn't going to happen.. you can't wait an hour before the race and expect to not have traffic.. there are three major roads that merge into one that goes to the track you have to be patient

It is something as a nascar fan you have to do. We went in 2000 for 10 days, hit all the races. traffic and parking was not that bad for us, we stayed at a RV park and bussed in for the big races, and drove in for the others.

I dated a busch car driver back in the late 80s.. I've been to Daytona but it was the 400 day race.. miserable heat.. watched the race from a car hauler..been to Atlanta, Darlington, Talladega.. mywish list is Bristol..

We used to leave Jacksonville at six in the morning and still have to fight to get a parking spot in the mall. The last couple of times I went we parked on the other side of the airport and took the bus to the backstretch.

Really i suggest getting into daytona about daylight..getting your spot and taking a nap until about 2 hrs before racetime..

Sounds like you have all of the nuances of getting in and out Daytona figured out, ktg8trgrl. I suspect at some point in time I'll do the 'ole college try to see the race. I'd like to see Talledega as well. I would say I am envious of you ktg8trgrl as you have been to some major and significant tracks already. I especially like the early arrival suggestion and than napping before the race. Great idea to just chill. Excellent!
