No, you don't understand redshirt rules and you're making yourself look dumb. If you take a redshirt, you can't play in any other games. Dabo would have understood his reasoning for the redshirt and wouldn't have played him (in fact, he couldn't have made him play). He wouldn't even have to dress out for games. It essentially would have shaken out like it did this year (Trevor as the starter, Chase as the backup), but Bryant would have been around for leadership purposes.
