Why in the world would they option Slater when there was a question about whether or not Williamson was ready to go? And what happened to Panik? I don't remember hearing of any concerns about him last night. With Melancon, its telling that they moved him so quickly (compared to other 60 day moves from this org). He won't be back for quite some time. In fact, has there been any updates on him since the end of spring training?
The Melancon news is not as bad as it looks. He isn’t retro added to the beginning of the season, so he is eligible to come off on the 25th (same day as Bum). He did start playing catch the other day, and was expected to have another session today. I haven’t heard any updates outside of that. I am sure that the success the bully has had so far played into the decision, though.
It seems so unusual for the org to send a guy down and then recall him an hour or so later on a concussion issue. Something must have flared up on Mac suddenly. But the Panik injury seemed to have come out of nowhere.
He was technically sent down last night, after the game. I assume Mac woke up with some dizziness.
That makes a little more sense.
Wow, I didn't know teams could make decisions between games of doubleheaders like that.
Craptastic.... I always cringed when I saw other teams go through injury woes for seasons consecutively and feared someday it could happen to my team. UGH!!!!!! hoping after this run it can turn around in the future.
I was just coming to say this. Dude is glass. It will ultimately be his undoing.
So frustrating . . . for him and for us. Hopefully, KT and Hanson can hold down 2nd until he returns.
