Then handed the game to their opponent with a short incompletion on fourth. Which they would've had to use their final timeout on, as it wasn't near the sideline.

Yeah. Both teams had gotten a field goal in overtime.

There were just 30 seconds left.

Texans were out of timeouts.

Neither team will be over .500 this season so it is a rather insignificant fuckup in the grand scheme of things.

I'm a Colts fan and I loved the call. Screw this tie crap. I am thrilled to have a coach with some testicles for a change. We went through soft ass Dungy, Caldwell, and Pagano. Coach Reich is a breath of fresh air.

Failing to understand the calculus that a tie is better than a loss when you're 1-2 in a division with the Jags, who went to the AFCCG last year, and the Titans, who also made the playoffs last year. They were both 3-1 at that point in the game; a tie is worthless to Indy if the playoffs matter. Not like he loses currency in the lockerroom to go for the win either when a FG was all that was needed at that point.

I didn’t hate it. I like coaches that aren’t afraid of backlash and he knew exactly what he was doing. He knew it could backfire and what would happen if it failed.

You take the tie and you're still one game under .500 (or half-game I guess technically).

And again, they were throwing to their own 44, wasn't like they were automatically in FG range. They turned the ball over to Houston 10 yards away from a 47-yarder. Bad move.

15-20 yards isn't a big distance unless we're under 10 seconds. Stop. 1st down much shorter than that.
