What decisions have you seen coaches make, in OT, that are comparably as dumb?



Marty Mornhiweg winning the toss and opting to take the wind and kick is all I've got.

That's going to be hard to top, this season. He directly handed the game away. There were only 25 seconds left in the game, too. HOU was probably going to start from around the 20 and have to go 80 yards with no (or 1) TD.

I agree that's dumbest coaching move so far.

If they were on the other side of the 50 I could maybe see the going for it but from your own 40 is just insane. In today's NFL a lot of coaches are very aggressive these days but that decision at the end of the game is just bad.

Colts were 1-2. I don't have any beef with it. I take more issue with the Texans going for the FG and handing the ball back to Luck. Neither team can really absorb a tie with the Titans being 3-1 as of that moment.

Exactly. I see nothing wrong with it. Plus I've seen enough ties this season.

I loved the Titans decision not to kick the fg either and play for the win

The Texans still need to make a play to get into realistic FG range.

He chose to try to win the game. I'm not going to criticize him for that.

This dumb? When you have no defense and a field goal will beat you, going for it was probably their best odds.

You take the tie and you're still one game under .500 (or half-game I guess technically).

And again, they were throwing to their own 44, wasn't like they were automatically in FG range. They turned the ball over to Houston 10 yards away from a 47-yarder. Bad move.

On that and the previous drive, the Colts DB's had been playing too soft. That little curl was open like every time. On the play in question, one of them finally nutted up and challenged the receiver, knocked the ball down.
