One thing that kind of bugs me is MAGA has pretty much co-opted the US flag, at least in my area. I'd guess 80-90% chance if I see someone in my area that has a flag out - if I look closely I'll see Trump MAGA stuff. Usually I don't have to look closely, usually their entire yard is decorated in Trump related high quality merchandise.

I had to tell my elderly parents to take off their car-flags because it is sending the wrong message.
(and it's bad for fuel economy, and looks stupid anyway)


when I played in the CARHA world hockey championship last year they gave us a Team Canada jersey.

Same thing is happening up here (not to the same extent mind you) with the anti-Trudeau sentiment. The convoy koo-koos have co-opted the Maple Leaf along with their F*ck Trudeau flags/signs/bumper stickers.

I have an issue with using the term "co-opted" when referring to MAGAt use of the US Flag or the Flu Trucks Klan use of the Canadian Flag.

It is pure defacing and destruction, and is criminal. Similar to the thin blue line flag that surfaced after the George Floyd debacle.
