Bothers me I can't even consider Severino

What a shitbag he became

he has a .379 BABIP allowed in the 2nd half. something tells me that won't be happening again in 2019. I fully expect Sevy to be a CYA contender the next few years despite the 2nd half woes.

He needs a better pitching coach

Kluber for me.

The guy has 3 ++ pitches that he has great control over and his 4th pitch ( changeup) may as well be ++ because it is so unexpected since hitters have to key on other pitches.
If he can stay relatively injury free he's going to be really good for some years to come.

But if we can only go with those two... Kluber

Maybe Newcomb of Atlanta... Though he could easily be a one hit wonder....

Folty is about to turn into the next Scherzer, so I'm going with him.

Seriously though, deGrom. I don't think he will be, but I've gotta make sure Blake Snell isn't a one year wonder before making the commitment, if he backs it up next season, he's my pick.

Dude, Newcomb sucks. He might not even make the post season roster. He has good stuff, but he's a mental pussy that melts in high profile games. He's had like 3 good starts since June. One of them happened to be a near no hitter.

Folty is the one that really seemed to put it together this year.

I'm just thinking potential... As you mentioned he needs to get his head on straight but he could do it. I do like Folty.... Not sure how I forgot about him

Neither should be anyone's pick in this thread, but given the choice between the two, I take Folty every time.

I'm hoping other teams view Newcomb as highly as you do. JT Realmuto would look real good in a Braves uniform, and a big park with no pressure in Miami might work out for Newk too..

Granted I haven't seen much of him so I shouldn't really say and I am sure my view is skewed on him

Reckon Bumgarner will be obtainable via trade this offseason?

I hope so. Love him, but he isn’t the same guy any more and never will be. I hope they don’t give him a Cain or Lincecum deal, but they probably will.

He might never be the same, but I'd love to have that really solid veteran that knows how to win at the top of the Braves rotation, and given our farm system, I figure if the Giants want to deal him, we'd be one of their preferred suitors.

Well, our farm system sucks and yours doesn’t, so if you want to throw a clown car full of prospects at us, I’ll put a good word in for you.

Third base seems to be taken care of, so Austin Riley is expendable IMO, and then a couple good pitching prospects, would that be enough? I'd even throw in Sean Newcomb. Dude can't pitch in humidity, but a big park in San Fran would be perfect for him.

I’d take it. I’d take just not trading away our few good prospects for guys a year or seven past their prime who get paid a ton of money (I’m looking at you, Evan Longoria).

Newcomb has to have perfect tempature and conditions to be effective. And he cant throw a strike when he needs to. He is also a huge mental pussy. RedSox can have him straight up for Sale if yall want him.

Only Braves pitcher I would do this max deal for is Touki Toussaint.

I'd go with Aaron Nola. Just 25 and he has progressed each year to where he is now. 5 years in what should be his prime. Would only be 30 years old at the end of the deal.
