twitter last night didn't seem to think it there was any potential for cancellation/reschedule.. but i would think it's tough to make that call before the snow even comes.

they just had a twitter update that the game is still on, but it is dumping here pretty good.

ya? that's kinda fun. i miss good solid snows, just throws a nice bit of chaos in to things to keep people on their toes

I said this on twitter, if the game does get postponed, conceivably they could move it back a night because neither team plays tomorrow night and the Sixers are at MSG - Carolina is in Buffalo Thursday night and the Flyers are in Columbus Thursday night, so if they were to play tomorrow night, the travel to those cities afterwards shouldn't be too bad

SanFilippo says there's only 1 open date this game could be moved to within the NHL rules and that's March 10th.

based on that, and all necessary personnel already being in philly, i'd say the chances the game gets rescheduled are very slim

This is one of the reasons I don't like the Olympics during the season - it's a compressed schedule and because of March being tough, it'd be very difficult to reschedule at this point incase anything happened

from a hockey standpoint, i wish the NHL didnt participate in the olympics. i love watching the amateurs go out there and play. always seems like they want it more. passion makes for excitement to me.

plus then it doesn't disrupt the NHL season.

but from an NHL standpoint, it makes a lot of sense to go to the olympics. get some good publicity for their players and what not.

cant argue with that. people just seem to be more likely to watch olympic stuff rather than 'regular' professional leagues. i know i don't watch figure skating or speed skating.. skiing, snowboarding, luge, bobsled, etc unless it's the olympics. maybe some people are like that with hockey? and the NHL hopes they can steal some fans that fall in love in olympic hockey? who knows
