I'm trying to widdle down a list of players that are better players than torres. that can hit, fight, put in a few goals when needed most. and am having a real tough time finding them guys ilke Chris Neil will not be traded from a playoff bound team. thornton is more untouchable for anyone in this league let alone the canucks. that guy is a beast (asshole but beast)

trade deadline day will be very interesting. but I would like to see a trade before that (2 weeks or more which is very soon) to give players time to gel

I somewhat cringe suggesting it ... but ... Jeff Carter ???

dangerous to bring him into the room? not just his attitude ... but where his salary slots in with the rest of the roster especially when others have taken less to stay canucks

he could be a perfect complementary player ... he doesnt want to be in Cbus so any move is probably seen by him as a reprieve ... and of course its easy to say given em ballard and raymond but would they even want that?

ballard raymond and a pick to compensate and get the money off their books. but 10 years on $5.25? or is it $5.75? I think our room will keep him under wraps but Im not sure that makes sense to keep so long. he's still very young and can score. we would have a glut of centres.

yah the term length is very scary ... dont think you can have too many centres though ... especially ones versatile enough to play wing

i also saw Bobmac say the Kings are interested ... lol ... Richards and Carter reunited in Hollywood ??? .... great idea!!!

I've always liked the Precht, so I would like that depth if healthy.

The good news for Vancouver is that they already have a skilled forward ready to join the team as soon as the season ends, assuming he stays healthy the rest of the way.

That fellow is NHL veteran Steve Reinprecht, who Canucks GM Mike Gillis described Thursday night as "the best player in the American League right now."

The club would cheerfully bring him up now as a replacement for any one of the passengers floating around up front, but he would almost certainly be claimed on recall waivers, and so, not surprisingly, they're going to wait until they can bring him up risk-free.
