Fair enough on AS and I don’t think anybody is judging AS based on the trade. Those who are critical of him are critical because of his past in the NFL.

Guy has been underrated his whole career. Not necessarily lived up to the #1 overall pick, but has been a solid starter for 14 years now

Prior to the 2017 season the Redskins offered Cousin's a contract for $53 million guaranteed this included the $24 million tag figure for 2017 and 29 million, 1 million more than the tag figure for 2018.

They gave Smith a 3 year guaranteed contract @ $71 million. $40 million this year including the signing bonus. His cap hit is only $18.4 million. His signing bonus is $27million but that is spread out over 5 years or $5.4 million per year.

Cousin's Viking deal is 3 years fully guaranteed @ $84 million. There are potential bonuses that would make the contract worth $90 million. He can thank the Redskins and himself for putting himself in the position to make this type of money. Had the Redskins had the forethought and ability to recognize his skills they likely could have signed him for 5 years at $100 -110 million. That is basically the contract they signed Smith to this year. Smith's total contract is 5 years @$111 million dollars.

All there is to do now is evaluate after the 2020 season who was the better QB. We know that Cousin's was the only QB in the entire NFL to throw for 13,000 yards, at least 25 TDs and a 90+ QB rating from 2015 0 2017.

Personally I am going to root for both of them.

2006- 22 in passing yards/ game, 19 in TDs, 22 in rating
2009- 20 ypg, 19 in TDs, 19 in rating
2010- 22 ypg, 24 in TDs, 21 in rating
2011- 27 ypg, 17 in TDs, 9 in rating
2013- 24 ypg, 15 in TDs, 14 in rating
2014- 22 ypg, 19 in TDs, 13 in rating
2015- 29 ypg, 20 in TDs, 10 in rating
2016- 22 ypg, 27 in TDs, 16 in rating
2017- 8 ypg, 9 in TDs, 1in rating

As you can see, in every major statistical category, he has been at best average. The only reason his ratings have been this high is the lack of interceptions because he is too damn risk averse. Notice how insane of an outlier his 2017 season was. If I had to project his rankings this season, I would go 15 in ypg, 20 in TDs, and 14 in rating. I expect many more interceptions from him this season because I believe he will be put in more situations that require him to make a play.

Oh yeah...he has also lost his job to the following...JT O’Sullivan, Shaun Hill, Colin Kaepernick, and now Patrick Mahommes.

I think we under estimate colt McCoy , I will not root for Kirk or the skols I want Kirk to suck to validate are F.O .. Colt McCoy is playing lights out he played good against the pats but it's only preseason.

True regarding the players that replaced. The stats show that he was at best at average QB until last year. I hope the Redskins have the guy from last year.
