Bad games called by both coordinators. When the score was 21-14, the right thing to do from then on was a heavy dose of running.

The wft’s oline could move the bills d line. They should have played keepaway with Allen, and gone heavy, and run the ball down their throats.

This would have at least kept the game within reach.

After a year of fantastic halftime adjustments, especially on defense, so far I’ve seen very little evidence of any successful adjustments. Its hard to know why.

Are darby, moreland, moreau really missed that much?

Pretty much spot on.

I am not going to get on Turner. Heinicke is not going to the right spots with the ball and is holding it a bit too long. He told his teammates that and apologized for trying to do too much. It is hard for the play caller and the QB when you are down big early.
First away game at Rich Stadium against a team that was in the AFC Championship game last year. That's tough.

I think he tried to do way too much, but that will happen when you feel you have to score everytime you have the ball just to stay in the game.

Do you remember only 10 days ago when WTF beat the lowly NY Giants in a thriller and several people here wanted to change Heinicke's name to Joe Montana? It's amazing how the public's tunnel vision focusses on what they saw just one week ago when the next week is entirely different. This is why Vegas loves the public when it comes to betting.

Early betting line vs the dirty birds... Atlanta favored by 1.5 (Fuq I counted this one as a win for our guys)

The public will play with this betting line all week until it settles at something. Washington is now favored by 1.5 points so this line might even close at a 'pickum' on Sunday.

Adam Humphries- 1 catch on 4 targets for 7 yards. His one catch was on 3rd and 10 so our third down specialist got another zero first downs. That gives him 10 catches on 14 targets and a whopping 61 yards.

Dyami Brown- 0 catches on 2 targets…plus one rush for -4 yards. That gives him 4 catches on 12 targets for 32 yards.

Cam Sims- 1 catch on 2 targets for 15 yards…plus one rush for 7 yards. That gives him 2 catches on 3 targets for 32 yards.

You've got to remember that an opening line of 1 or 2 points is basically a 'pickum' game based on public perception from the linemaker to the public. The public will play with this line all week long and it might even be Washington -1.5 about an hour before kickoff time. At about 30 minutes before kickoff time the sharps (professional gamblers) might or might not take a position on this game for huge money depending on what their personal betting line is telling them.
I get all of that but I'm looking at the fact that the opponent is Atlanta... ATLANTA... At-Farkin'-Lanta and the fact that they are favored at any time
against our guys. Whether or not the line changes, the very sad fact that Farkin' Atlanta is favored over this team at any point is....1632789476751.png

It was 21-14 for a minute on a hell of a play by Gibson and that goofy kickoff and a good pass to Logan. Right after halftime it was 14 points and getting worse quickly.

I agree that it was only 14 points for two series, I believe. But what was already clear was how easily Allen was marching his team down the field.

If for no other reason than to give the defense a breather, and also to calm TH down enough to hopefully get him back into a rhythm, it would have been good for the WFT to run their best running plays for that series and take time off the clock.

It was a surprise to absolutely nobody that Allen directed a four play scoring drive for a field goal with :40 left before half after the WFT tried to pass their way to another score.

Piss poor coaching and playcalling.

I pray to God it's an effort thing and not a talent thing with this team. Effort can be corrected. Still, makes me second guess Rivera canceling the last week of camp/otas because they had a good week. The team looks out of shape. Why is Smith-Williams getting so much run on 3rd down? I'm talking 1st quarter run.

What I don’t get is how can there be lack of effort this early? What’s really going on with these players?

Combination of a lack of fitness, hearing people like Greenberg call them this years 49ers, and JDR putting too much faith in the front four to create pressure.

I think JDR figured he had the luxury of sitting back in zone because he thought the front four would wreak havoc. He knows his LBS can't man cover. Just my best guess.

Still doesn't account for Fuller getting touched every week so far and Collins blowing assignments.

So much wrong on that side of the ball.

I think what this team needs is for some coaches to get pissed off and call these guys out.

I think way too many guys on the defense were smelling their own poop and thought it smelled like roses this past off season. I am still pissed that Chase thinks he is a leader but didn't show up for OTAs. That is setting a bad example as a teammate.

I think Chase has great athleticism and Montez too but they have to get after it.

I watched Kerrigan last night. He looks slow and which only leaves him with a bull rush. He might be in the same spot big Ben is .... start pondering retirement.

Do you feel JDR s scheme doesn’t allow for that? Didn’t feel that way watching them last year.
