These issues with O'Brien and certain players in Houston have been going on since his first season with the Texans.

Anyone remember Andre Johnson?

After one season with O'Brien, was released and immediately signed with the Colts just so he could get back at O'Brien. Other players have left the Texans because of personal conflict with O'Brien. Duane Brown. Clowney.

Hopkins was just the latest.

And the final straw.

Late in the fourth yesterday, down by a touchdown, the Texans had first an goal at the 1. Didn't they trade Hopkins for a running back? Not only did they not score on three straight runs, but the very same running back muffed the pitch on a third down option making it fourth and goal from around the 11 or 12!

It's months too late but that Hopkins trade got O'Brien fired.

I still don't get that one, AT ALL. I was so pissed when ARIZONA got him for that cheap. I was like, "CARROLL, YOU FUCK!?" but we wanted Jamal Adams which is hard to fault, although we gave up a fuck ton for it (and Metcalf appears to be Terrell Owens 2.0 so whatever). But still....

It wasn't even JUST the Hopkins trade, about every single one of the offseason moves O'Brien made was completely assinine.

The real bad thing is. The Redskins desperately needed a receiver and if you can believe Rivera, O’Brien never even shopped Hopkins. He probably could’ve gotten more for him. I’m sure a bunch of teams would’ve been interested

Watson can be a top 10 QB so it's an attractive spot for a new HC. Pick the right GM and they can have a quick turn around.
