Winchester PDX1 is what I use. I had the benefit being involved with a ballistic gel test being put on by Winchester comparing 9mm, 40 s&w and 45 acp. Several different makes were tested, Winchester, Remington, Hornady etc.. and the Winchester PDX1 was consistantly more devasting in the ballistic gelatin.

Really? I need to look into that then. I thought Hornady had the biggest damage meters

When the Hornadys "mushroomed" the way they are suppose to, they were by far the most devastating. Unfortunately it seemed like every other Hornady bullet either barely expanded or didnt expand at all upon impact.

The zombie-max line is the best value for defensive rounds.....they're basically just the hornady critical defense rounds for a fraction of the price

When I used to bench rest and varmint shoot a lot, I used to stop into the Hornady plant in Grand Island, NE and buy their rejects for a fraction of the price. You could get any caliber you wanted. There was never any visible reason for them to be rejects nor did I ever have any mis-fires, but I imagine they had their reasons.

That was back in the early 90's and they don't sell their rejects anymore. :(
