Not to change the subject, but I always thought a Big East conference with the likes of Pitt, PSU, WVU, BC, Syracuse, etc ... would be kick ass. PSU screwed that when they jumped to the B1G and the Big East put BB ahead of football.

Personally I think this is great. The players are currently in elementary school. So both Alabama and ND have to hope that the other has a good team in those years or else their strength of schedule will suffer. It is possible that one of these teams will be criticized and possibility be denied a spot in the playoff ( regardless of the amount of teams included in the future) if the other has a poor year. And yet, both are attempting to increase their SOS.
I have said before, SOS should take into consideration the traditional power of the teams at the time the contract is signed. If you don't think so, just refer to Wisconsin having scheduled BYU 4 or 5 years ago and being ripped for a weak SOS.

They didn’t cancel the series with us, our contract ran out and we are signed on to play them again in the future. That’s like saying Oregon replaced Iowa West with Portland State. That’s just stupid.
