bounce back from a 122 ERA+? he was pretty good last year.
I just wasn't impressed by him at all last year, Nasty and Dirt are on board with that as well.....We talked about him in this thread towards the beginning.....Small sample size, but I'm still not impressed....

If they get them all in. Looks like tonight is the only game not in imminent danger of postponement.

That injury to Chris Tillman 2 years ago has basically ended his major league career.

16-6 with a 3.7 ERA in 2015.
14-2 with a 3.1 ERA and gets hurt at that point in 2016.

Since then he is 3-15 with a 9.10 ERA the last 2 years. He looks like damaged goods.
He was looking like a borderline ace, and now he is a guy that would struggle in Low A.

I think he lied to the Orioles about his health, or the doctors are completely wrong.
It is painful to watch him struggle to get past the 2nd inning most outings.

It is a guaranteed loss every time he takes the bump. It has to end with designated for assignment or a trade.

thing is, even during Tillman's good years, he had very pedestrian K/BB rates and it's not like he's been a groundball pitcher either (only a career 40% GB rate). he never had an FIP or xFIP south of 4. He had some nice seasons, but there wasn't much in his peripherals to suggest that kind of performance was sustainable.

You are what your W/L record says you are.

Randy Johnson had 2 more wins than Mussina in 2006. Would you really try to argue that the guy with a 5.00 ERA was possibly better than the one with a 3.51 ERA? The Yankees scored 6+ runs in 20 of Randy's starts that year. They did that 15 times with Mussina on the mound.

Still waiting patiently for the Yankee bullpen to live up to even 50% of its pre-season hype.

:gaah:

I forgot you live there, obx.

How are things looking today? Any chance of a 1PM start?

Quick look at the forecast in Detroit, it looks real bad for baseball.

One of the more frustrating things about being a fan of the game.

Well theres goes that. Game postponed. Split double header tomorrow is the word

Not to be debbie downer, but tomorrow looks bad too. I'm guessing they are hoping that somehow they can squeeze one of the two in to try and avoid the games piling up.

They had warnings on TV for 1/2 inch to a full inch of ice on everything in the northern counties. Wayne county looks to be getting cold to freezing rain until the early afternoon tomorrow.

I would be perfectly OK with shortening the season by say 15-20 games and starting in May.
