I read this earlier, wondered why he waited so long after the season was over.

Maybe the surgery is more effective if it is less swollen or has been allowed to rest/heal some on it's own?

He needs surgery on his hands.. Article said they hoped rest would heal it but it did not. He may be ready in June, so really he won't miss anything.

The few drops were all early and entirely chemistry related. His hands are fine.

You threw the bait out there.....

I did, even if Sharon Dropson develops we still have way to many other areas on offense to address. Honestly I think the run is over in NE.

Wow! Every year....

Not every year, in fact this is the first year I have said it. I have watched Brady decline little by little now if they are going to keep Mallett then I would feel pretty okay I just have no idea where that is going

And when they win 11+ games and go to the AFC Championship game and possibly further, you'll say you called it and change your tune.

It was a stress fracture. It was likely caused by resuming his routine too strongly after being out earlier in the season. When he returns to training, he will have to build up slowly or it can happen again - even in another bone.....

Wasn't it broken before we drafted him? I could have sworn it was.

could have been a different bone. Stress fractures happen because athletes that are out of shape can still run fast and jump high. Need to get in shape before going all out. When the foot muscles get tired and you keep running and jumping, that's when this happens. He will have to change his training methods. The trainers understand this issue very well.....

This and all the groin issues players had this year, are a direct result of the new rules regarding early training....

I'm assuming BB is all over this issue and they will find a way to get in shape earlier.....

I looked back and it was mark Harrison who broke his foot before his pro day, not Dobson. Still, he had a very good first year and I am excited to see what he can do after a year in the system and hopefully healthier.

Then there's athlete's like Jerry Rice, Randy Moss and Terrell Owens that never let themselves get out of shape.

The article I read said he had it before. Sorry, no link. They planned to rest it but decided better to go surgery. Resting it would likely commit to a (last year) gronk-like situation of never knowing when he'd be back. This way he'll be ready. I hope they give him time to get in shape before pushing.Trainers understand this issue.....
