Watch.....no matter what happens the next two nights, with 10 days left in the season, we will be back to within 2 of the Dudgers.

It's called torture for a reason.

Well, even if the Giants can't do it this odd year, we found some nice gems and injuries just crushed us. Giants know what they need to buy this offseason.

Still baseball to be played. Night fellas

This game is a gut punch, but the season is FAR from over.

We have done well against Kershaw this year. The dogs are 0-3 against the Giants in his starts, and he is 0-2 personally.

20.1 IP, 8 ER.

I honestly think I prefer a sweep, would make September less stressful.

This has been a great year, went in not worried about whatever happened, and I still feel that way. We aren't desperate like these other teams. Keep the dynasty going, keep finding young talent, stay healthy in an even year next year, and we're back in the playoffs.

Well, that ending sucked. Got up this morning to see this score. Personally, that feels like a serious gut punch to the division title hopes. I know we are still in it and that anything is possible, but with Greinke and Kershaw looming, 4.5 games back feels more like 10.

It was tough to watch, especially against JJohnson and Hatcher, who went through the lineup twice :L

Anything is possible though, and the Giants still have 6 games against the bad guys.

I had to call out of work today too. All for a lose to basically end the season

This is probably the longest thread on the board for quite some time, maybe ever. Well done. Next time, though, let's get the win to go along with the long thread.
Just sorted by replies and it is the longest game thread on this forum.

I think it was multiple factors: a crucial game, winnable, that lasted forever, with seemingly the whole season on the line, and all of us were just trying to be here and will them a win.

Didn't we get swept in the equivalent to this series last year?

I can't remember, but last year was last year. As of now we are 5 back with a month left. We got major problems. Dodgers have some too, but not as bad. And they are up 5. If we were up 5 I'd feel differently, of course.

There's a point in every season when a fan decides it's over. For some 'fans' it's the first week of the season (Nolan). For some it's not until they are literally mathematically eliminated, so right now there are still Padres fans hoping each game they can win the West. For me it happens usually late in the year if the team is any good. I think I'm there. I will be there for sure if we lose either of these games.

And by the way winning both is not out of the question. We got our ace up there too tonight, and tomorrow, well, Vogey can pitch 3, then Huddy can pitch 3, then who knows....

And even if we do lose both, i'll still root, and post, and watch, and pay attention, but I won't care as much because I will have made peace with 2015.

msg, you pretty much "gave up" on this team during the the offseason. The entire year, you have been saying "this is an odd year, we are stocked for '16" and "It's OK that we won't win it this year, we are playing with house money". You haven't been in the NN or tz class, granted, but you cashed in you 2015 chips months ago.

On a side note, we have Leake going tomorrow, not Vogey...

I was going to write a point by point, detailed rebuttal discussing how my emotions have changed and evolved as the season progressed, about the difference between emotion and analysis, 'house money' and so on, but then I thought....whatever, Fan Police.

If it helps you to rag on me while the Giants have a rough stretch here, ain't no thang.
