Game Thread: 8/3/18 Stratton @ Corbin

This is where you start looking at the AAA roster and seeing who's fresh for tomorrow. This is gonna be ugly

J Johnson, JA Valdez and D Law have thrown so far tonight. Herb, Gomez and Okert threw last night.

That leaves Anderson, Camarena, P Johnson, Kelly, Osich, Parra and Rogers.

At this rate, Stratton will be lucky to get through 3 innings before he hits 100 pitches. Time to call up Shaun Anderson?

I wouldn't. He's going to be on an innings limit. Probably makes more sense to call up Herb, or trade for someone (even just as depth)

Since Panda and Cueto are out for the year, why are they still on the 10-day? Or do they have to be on the 10-day the whole 10 days before moving to the 60?

And do they REALLY think Scrabble will come back this season? If not, why not move him to the 60 as well?

Johnson isn't really a starter anymore. He could be an 'opener' I guess

Most teams typically don't move guys to the 60 day dl until they "have" to, either by activating another from the 60, waiver pickup, trade acquisition or purchasing a contract. I do remember, I think one or two years ago, the Dodgers had all of their dl guys on the 60 day in September and brought every single one of the guys on the 40 man up for big league games.

They want to keep Stratton in, maybe get another big inning in the 3rd or 4th. They want to lull Stratton into false confidence (either that or they figured he'd be so easy to hit that they are swinging at the first pitch they see).
