On the bright side, Alvarez continues to get better and better. I wasn't keen on his signing and he started the year awfully but he's gotten really good.

We are still 7-3 in our last 10. Hard to get too upset with that. Even if the doggies are 9-1 in that same span. We can’t control their record. We can only control ours. And playing .700 ball is more than acceptable.

I'm talking about the past 3 games, a micro-slump, if you will. My expectations have become unreasonably high for the team.

Fair. And the team doesn’t pass the eye test over that span either, so again, fair point.

These last few games are amplifying the weaknesses of this team. The SP is a real problem. The bully is very good, but probably not elite. The offense can be shut down by good pitching.

I am not certain this team can win a post season series.

I hate to agree with you on the SP but I think you are spot on. They do not appear to be as strong as they were in the beginning of the season. I don't believe they are sub-par but when you compare them to LA or the Brewers I think they are over matched. Not going to score much off either of those teams. I'm also starting to think that we maybe be a wildcard team. I'm not sure we have the pitching to hold our slim lead over LA. We'd have to beat them in the head to head series at a minimum.
The offense has also gone silent. I know that is what good pitching can do to an offense. That's what the post season is going to look like.
Going to be difficult for us in the post season.

So, I've no idea how many post seasons series will have to play but, I bet we end up 11-8* WS Champs.
