Why in the hell is saying cotton picking racist? I guess my mom should be offended, she grew up picking cotton and is white as it gets. Why are people waking around looking for a reason to get butthurt?

It's more a sign of the times, a subset of the world we live in now is really really sensitive and because of Twitter these people are loud and can whip up an online mob any time they get triggered. It's a good thing when protesting injustices like unarmed men being riddled with bullets by police, it's not so great when this happens.

Might be. Except for about 3ish years when I lived in Florida, I've lived in California since I was about 5 and have heard that my whole life. Parents, friends parents, family members, teachers even.

Heck, I use it to this day myself. Told my grandsons on Thursday when the wife and I were babysitting that they're both out of their cotton pickin' minds. They didn't seem offended. lol

Interesting it would be a common saying in Cali. I was expecting it confined more to the south where most of the cotton plantations are.

My Mom's family is from Louisiana and My Dad is from Tennessee.
