Hendon Hooker is next up. I am only going to do his last two season stats (22 starts): 68 touchdowns, 5 ints, 6,080 passing yards, 9.7 yards per attempt, 69% completion%.

What do you guys think of him? Will the knee hurt his draft stock, despite claims he'll be ready for NFL training camp?
He's 25 which is a bit old for a rookie and than the injury which likely delays when he will be ready to start playing.

He turned 25 in January and claims he'll be ready for training camp. Tua Tagovailoa was drafted 5th overall, despite suffering from a serious injury the year before.

Yes he’s 25 as a rookie not even drafted yet plus coming off a serious injury so a double whammy. He. will get drafted but not as a first rounder.

Yep. I think he's going somewhere in Day 3. If he didn't get injured, I think we would be talking 2nd or 3rd round.

BTW - tomorrow is the Senior Bowl. We have seen Senior Bowl QB MVPs having success - Justin Herbert, Daniel Jones, and Dak Prescott in recent years. Kellen Mond and Davis Webb were third round picks.

Going to call an audible. I'll add Max Duggan to the list -- 6'2, 210 pounds, 21 years old (turns 22 next month), 43 career starts. In 2022, he was a Heisman Trophy finalist, won the Davey O'Brien Award and Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, and helped his team reach the National Championship Game.

2022 stats - 41 touchdown passes, 8 ints, 8.8 yards per attempt, 3,968 passing yards, and a 64% completion%.

In 2020, he found out he has Wolff–Parkinson–White syndrome (WPWS). Had to undergo a nine-hour heart surgery to repair the issue. Two days later, he had a blood clot and had to get additional surgery. Entering the 2022 season, nobody had high expectations for him. He lost the starting job going into the season and didn't start until week 2. Currently he's projected as a "Day 3 guy", but if he aces the draft process, could slip into the 3rd round. Basically, he's a 3rd-7th round prospect. Gets praised for his leadership (plays with heart), running skills, and the ability to make clutch throws. Ball placement seems to be the big knock against him.

What about Detroit? I think Richardson falling into the bottom of the 1st round would be a huge plus for him. He doesn't want to go to a team that expects him to start right away. And lets be honest, NFL teams will expect him to start in 2023.
Detroit should build around Goff. Experienced former #1 that has found his groove.

They need defense. Anything else is a waste.

Other than Bryce Young, who I think will be good, I see nothing but question marks with these QBs. Stroud has the arm but I think he could be a bust. I don't see the great talent with Anthony Richardson that some seem to see, he looked very mediocre in the games I watched.

Max Duggan had a great final year in college but he's a third day pick and likely career backup. Rumor is Jerry Jones has wood for the guy though, so maybe he reaches for him.

What do you guys think of C.J Stroud? (tomorrow I am doing Will Levis)

He started two seasons for the Buckeyes and successfully filled in the shoes left by Justin Fields. He seems to get high praise for his arm talent and decision-making. The big "knock" against him was his inability to make accurate throws under pressure. Most of his completions were to wide open receivers. However, the Georgia game changed that perception. He had a monster game and was able to successfully throw the football under duress.

Seems like almost all of those are quick, crisp passes to the receiver the play was designed for, who was open. NFL Ds will be tougher.

Breaking news out of the Senior Bowl. Jake Haener out of Fresno State was named MVP of the game. Since 1999, all of the Senior Bowl MVP winning quarterbacks were drafted somewhere between the 1st and 4th round. Keep in mind that Phillip Rivers, Justin Herbert, Daniel Jones, and Terry Bradshaw all won this award.

Haener was 12 for 19 for 139 passing yards, 1 TD, and 0 turnovers. Heisman Trophy runner-up Max Duggan went 4 for 9 for 26 passing yards -- not a good performance at all.

My last profile quarterback: Jake Haener. 23 years old (24 in March), 6'1, 195 pounds. Played for both Washington and Fresno State. Started for two seasons (23 starts) for Fresno State. During that time period, he scored 58 touchdowns, 12 ints, 6,992 passing yards, 70% completion%, and 8.4 yards per attempt.

Jaren Hall, BYU - 6'1, 205 pounds, turning 25 in March. In his last two seasons (22 starts), he's scored 57 tds, 11 ints, 8.6 yards per attempt, 5,754 passing yards. Suffered an ankle injury against Stanford, which made him miss the New Mexico Bowl and limited during the Senior Bowl.

@Clayton - Have you seen this guy before?

Byu is probably going to be blacklisted from the nfl qb conversation for awhile.

Imo:

Young #1 overall
Stroud #2 overall
Levis top 6 (possibly pick 3)
Richardson top 7 (possibly pick 3)

There will be trades

Love this guy. My favorite QB in the draft… Been touting him for a while now….This is the guy I’ve been wanting the Hawks to target since November with one of our 2nd or 3rd round picks

Hooker looks like a Raider type QB.
Most his highlights I watched were just deep balls or he took it & ran.

Update time: Young, Stroud, Levis, and Richardson are all expected to go in the top ten. Richardson seems to be the real riser here. There are some who project him as #1 overall pick. If he aces the Combine next week, I don't think he makes it out of the top 5. As you can see from the video below, there is real debate going on with Richardson. People seem to LOVE the skill set and feel it is better than Young, Stroud and Levis. But on the other hand, the tape is wildly inconsistent. His completion% was less than 55% last season, which is seen as the kiss of death for 1st round quarterbacks.
