I love trading, don’t get me wrong, but I just don’t see the point in accepting offers for unwanted picks on picks that will more than likely be skipped next year, just like the ones being sold this year.
Seems like a lot of hassle for minimal potential.

To each their own I guess.

Bingo.
Apparrently no one reminisced over the D2 Draft History thread to see how awesome these rookie drafts really are?

Meh, who knows, someone might grab the next James Robinson (and actually hang onto him this time)..it only takes that one diamond to make all the efforts worth it.
And those future picks, sometimes they come in handy in closing other deals.
Mostly meaningless, but, not always

I would say that D2 picks are more valuable then D1 most years. Because we did not do our normal cut down to 20 last year, these picks are kinda worthless. And @TREFF beat me to the James Robinson example.

yeah, I don’t want to sound like I’m knocking it (I’ve made way too many bad trades) nor do I mind delays (a never ending draft? sign me up), I just can’t help but think Fuzzy’s real pick might have been skipped to, or mostly skipped to and he might be otc now without giving up anything...

and maybe his guy gets taken in between, so yeah, I get it.

I haven’t, but wouldn’t be surprised to see these picks being results of trades of the same kind in previous seasons, which is why it struck me...

but obx makes a great point. The names are even stickier this late.

but everyone has a target, which is a good thing, (honestly, this is why deep leagues rock!)

IDK about that...
Unofficially, there were 180 players that earned more than 100 PPR fantasy points last year. We had 400 players in D2. The bottom 100 players could not have had more than 50 points for the whole season.

One of those top people has more of a chance in a normal year of being found in this league over D1. because of the Taxi Squad aspect. That is why I say these picks have more value in D2 then D1. In D1 you have the same number of players throughout the year so anything beyond the 3rd round is mostly worthless to me unless you didn't have any picks in the early rounds and have someone like Dezine Ozigbo to drop.

This year has seemed slower then normal. I don't know if it was COVID last year and all of us being able to be in front of their computer or what. I would go with an 18 hour clock next year or if we go with a 12 it stops between 10 and 6 at night.

12 hours is more than enough.

Kudos to @TKOSpikes and @Stomp btw. Between the 2 of them, they are 5 hours apart. Neither misses a beat. :thumb::cheer2:

pick time wise .. we all are in different time zones and some folks are around the computer all day

while some folks work at different hours than your average 9 to fiver....

i think 24 hours is fine early in the draft as the better trades may involve bigger names happen with 1st round picks etc..

i would suggest

round 1 still 24 hours

round 2 cut it down to 12

round 3 if you are using your pick then at least tell everone when you are back to pick..

i know when im out or headed to work i post the fact so we can all just get along with our respective day...

just as i did last night i told the gang i will not pick until after work today in D1 and that is where im headed to now...

I could get behind this idea. I would also like to point out that while it was @ehb5 pick that set off this discussion, there have been numerous picks this year that have taken longer then normal.
