Figured so. Nsekehe looked terrible at LG and RT last year, but was a brick wall at LT. However, we have a top three LT on the roster. Callahan gotta earn that paycheck now and get Ty up to speed at LG.

Yes because those are the only things we needed from a draft pick

That's neither what I tried to convey or what I said. We do need a lotta shit, but none of it is named Rosen. James would fit a bill as to what we need (or seems to) but Payne's positionb of DT is needed more. If he (Payne) turns out to be what peeps sayu he is. I'll end up being a great draft pick.

David Akers talking ish to Dallas fans... "The Last time you won a SB these draftees weren't even born!" Classic!!

They then took a TE that Dallas wanted!
And with a first name Dallas to top it off. It was a classic F.U to the Cowboys and Jerrah. Akers was classic trolling the Dallas fanbase. Jerrah must be flipping the hell out, lol.

NAh.. I dont think any one is saying it was a bad move. BUt some are simply saying that Bruce following Scots plan last year, and managing to actually pull off a good draft so far this year does not absolve him for the clusterfuck that was 2009-2017 is all. :suds:

Damn......gotta give Bruce props. Got a guy he was considering at 13 and picked up a high 3rd because he could.

He was straight up in violation thinking about taking Guise at 13 and no props yet. Worse record than Vinny Cerrato.

Basically the FO took a big chance of losing guice just to get a 3rd pick and they pick a lineman that can only play LT but he has upside and adds depth now after 109 are draft is basically over

No is not and probaby trading back in the 4th rd would be the best option at this point.. do the math 109 to 160 is like almost 1/4 of the draft no drafting it' to long but I'm happy with are picks

Steve Apke was a starting linebacker for Pitt in the 1980s and then suited up for the Steelers as a replacement player during the 1987 season. His son, Troy, took a different path, signing with Penn State as a first-team all-state receiver from Mount Lebanon. He moved to safety for the Nittany Lions, playing in six games as a reserve (two tackles) as a true freshman. Apka started one game in his sophomore and junior seasons, compiling 26 and 28 tackles respectively and intercepting one pass in 2016. He joined fellow senior Marcus Allen as a starter (11 times in 13 games played) during 2017, posting 55 stops, three for losses, an interception and five pass breakups.

Overview
Apke's production in key indicators for the position, like ball production and tackle consistency, are lacking. With just one year as a full-time starter, there simply isn't enough impressive tape to get excited about. He has decent size and could put together a solid workout, but may not offer enough range in coverage or thump as a tackler to ever be a full-time contributor. Apke may need to find his niche on special teams to earn any early playing time.
Strengths
  • Showed in spring that he has the ability to beef up into the 210-pound range
  • Gets downhill against the run
  • Plays with good recognition of blocking schemes
  • Urgent to rush into his run fit and do his job
  • Adequate force as a striker
  • High school sprinter with decent straight-line speed
  • Has footwork and enough agility to survive and recover when crossed up by route fakes
  • History of special teams performance will help
  • Was MVP of the NFLPA game
Weaknesses
  • Needs to gain more intel from quarterback when playing on top
  • Below-average recognition and is slow to shade and close on throws
  • Takes questionable angles to throws
  • Needs to take a stand and squeeze a route near goal line rather than guarding grass
  • May lack lateral agility to handle man coverage responsibilities in NFL
  • Missed tackles plague him
  • Will undershoot pursuit angles to the perimeter and is inconsistent striking from a balance posture

Our 5th rounder will be either Shaquem Griffin or Maurice Hurst.
