I like Sushi's defense, but Shane's team would score some points. I think Shane's D would dominate Sushi's offense.

I love Sushi's d-line but I think my offense will be too much in this matchup. I got myself in a good matchup.

I agree with Sushi in that he has a solid all around team but Shane's offense is explosive and I think puts a little too much on the board... so even though he's mean to my uncle I got Shane...

Don't really love Shane's skill players... He really has absolutely no speed at all... it is hard to guard size, but i don't like one dimension... and i feel shane is that... even his running game, has no speed at all... With Gore, i don't think he needed a FB as Gore is known to be one of the best blocking backs in football, and doesn't really have the amazing speed to be significantly improved on having a FB...

So for the lack of speed i think i must go sushi...

No speed? Andre Johnson was known for catching the deep ball. The guy had breakaway speed, he was like Calvin Johnson, not him obviously. Gore was one of the best cutters, that's what made him great, not just breaking tackles but he showed you don't need elite speed to be a great back.

But I disagree bc Andre ran a 4.41 LOL Calvin ran a 4.35...

Andre could arguably be the best WR in this draft, mainly bc he is retired now. He had the size, physicality, the hands and speed. Triple threat.

Shane's QB's mobility would open holes for Gore. He doesn't need to be fast to hang 150

we overvalue mobile QBs IMO... Elite defenses tend to contain/stop mobile QBs... and sushi has one of the best defensive lines in this mock, and possibly the best overall defense in this mock...

It isn't all about running, it is about the actual threat of mobility and their ability to escape the pocket to give WR's time to get open

The NFL has NEVER been able to contain mobile QB's that can also THROW. Steve Young, Aaron Rodgers, Michael Vick(before dog gate), Russell Wilson. It also helps the running game...Zeke Elliott is a stud, and has a great OLine, but I can't tell you how many big runs he has had this season where the OLB and DE were going AWAY from Zeke instead of crashing, because they are trying to contain Dak on a fake. RG3 was even dominant before he wrecked his knee

That's a fair point but do you see the size differentials between the WRs and CBs... size isn't everything but it neutralizes some of the pass rush with slants and back shoulder passes that can be thrown quickly... and you can't ignore Gronk to stop the slants with your LBs... he's got a solid group I do agree he didn't need a FB but doesn't really matter...

the only problem i have with Sushi's team is that he paid WAY to much for such a mediocre receiving game... Wish he was able to get better receiver/TE for the money... But everything else, i see this being one of the best team in the mock...

Another thing is, in these mocks how often do you think big plays with occur, not as likely as in a regular NFL game. A big, physical WR like Brandon Marshall who has mastered getting open due to physicality and ability to push off CB's and not get tagged is key, sometimes it is almost impossible to cover a WR like that IMO

I wanted to get a speed back but a FB along with Gore can only open up more holes and a threat to catch the ball out of the backfield as well IMO

your definitely correct... it is a huge factor... not trying to say it is not... I just have a hard time voting for a team that loses in every aspect of the match EXCEPT his receivers... While he focused so hard on making an elite offense, but is kind of one dimensional at that...

I know i am being too hard on shane's offense, part of it is because i think Russell Wilson is over-rated...

Yes, but you lose the battle at the lines so badly that Russell Wilson would be scrambling for his life all game... he does make great plays on the run, but he has never faced a defense like this... I just don't see it...

Wilson and Carr are about a wash. I do have a question about your no speed assessment.. where is the speed on Sushi's offense? Arian Foster ain't exactly Bo Jackson. Cooper, Cobb and Sanders...which one is faster than Andre Johnson. Not knocking Sushi's squad, I just don't get your argument
