@CatsTopPac Will the NCAA just nut up and tell us about Trier? What the hell are they doing?

Anyone else bracing for the worst tonight?

Hard to imagine worse circumstances heading into an opener.

What an impressive performance. I think I speak for everyone when we were down 17-2 I though we were in for a long night but damnit we came back and we came back fast. I think we actually led probably 60 of the game. Wow. Proud of this team. Even the refs were pro MSU most the time.

I came into the game expecting the worst and after the first 5 minutes it looked like my fears were justified.

But man, did that team dig in and find a way to win or what. From Kobi bailing out the offense in the first half, to Lauri stroking the 3s, to Pinder and Alkins making it happen on defense, to PJC's clutch shot, and Kadeem's game winning sequence... it was a heck of a team effort from a young group with no depth.

I'll be rooting for Mich St the next couple weeks as they face Kentucky, Duke, and possibly Louisville. The win last night could end up having a huge impact come selection committee time.

I am super impressed with Markkanen. Dude is a legit matchup problem for any team.

It is really fun to watch our freshman trio. I'll say that right now.

Huge game from PJC. On a day when the offense disappeared he manufactured some almost completely on his own when it really matted.

I'm writing this with the expectation that he is yet to return, just because I've yet to see it. But that being said, I have no idea. I know that Miller can't discuss it because of FERPA and HIPAA restrictions, but I have no idea why the NCAA isn't acting. I don't know how long an appeal like this could possibly take. Seems like there should be a sense of urgency. I still can't fathom him taking a legit PED, because unless it's like weed or something, then there is no real gain in taking something like steroids for basketball. I just don't know what to think. Not sure if you've guys talked about it or heard, but there is a rumor that he popped hot for the steroids in his inhaler. I don't know what to think about it because I have to believe that has been run into before this. I just have no idea.

PJC has really impressed me this season so far. He's made the turn that I hoped he made last year. Great to see him stick with it, and us. Stoked for what he'll do this year and next!

I'm guessing that Butler is a much better team than I thought going in, but that was a little rough to watch. It exposed a lot of our weaknesses, directly. If Lauri gets into foul trouble, we're in trouble. Our freshmen overall are definitely freshmen. Rawle and Kobi are over-penetrating and its costing us possessions. Finally, we're going to suffer from a lack of depth. I was also disappointed with Kadeem's decision-making in the end.

I think we'll keep improving, but we can see this team for the work in progress they are.

I haven't watched the Zags play yet this year, but I'm thinking that we are going to need to play a very solid 40 minutes to win in LA.

We finish non conference with 11-2 record and two "good" losses to Butler and Gonzaga. Considering everything we've gone through already i say this is a good accomplishment. PJC looks to be ahead of schedule on his return and who the hell knows with Trier. No matter what happens we gotta bear down in conference play. UCLA looks real good and Oregon is right there with us. USC is good also.

@dcZONAfan this board welcomes you as well. Even though it's not very active this season. A comment will still be seen and replied to.

No doubt about it though if trier comes back our ceiling becomes much higher. This whole situation is ridiculous.

There seems to be a lot of speculation that Trier becomes eligible once the new semester starts. I hope, because that would be awesome. The status of Trier definitely changes the possibilities for this team.

Overall, I'm feeling pretty good about how they've have played so far. Not the best competition... but they've been playing with 7 guys most of the way, so coming out 11-2 is awesome.
