Yep, and just heard 12-14 guys are in competition for rotation spots! That's a sign of a team with some serious direction. Another year of watching minor league baseball in the majors. I do think they could "improve" and take 4th place this year. The Rockies had a less impressive off-season than even AZ!

Could we possibly have the worst catcher duo in MLB history?

Dioner Navarro wants out of Toronto. We have no catcher. He is good. Dave Stewart should be able to ring up the Jays quicker than most. Dropping the ball on this is inexcusable.

Navarro is terrible behind the plate. He only has value while playing the backup catcher/DH role. Spending $5 mil on him for a team that won't be competing would be a mistake. If we are just looking for a bat, just bring O'brien up to the bigs after spring training.

His WAR last year (if you go for that kind of stat) was 2.0 (aka "solid starter"). While he may not be elite, he's better than trying to figure out which of 8 turds to start on a given day.

Tuffy was a 0.1 (aka garbage scrub). That's our "best bet" right now.

On a good team, you may have an argument he'd have better value as a backup (I don't agree, but would respect the argument). On the D-backs...not so much.
