Of course, if the Gators had a schedule like Oregon or Ohio State, they would be on Easy Street.

Whatever, they couldnt even beat Louisville. I mean, even UConn beat Louisville

And we might lose to them again this year if we meet up, but what does that have to do with this year's SOS?

What it has to do with is saying that having Ohio State's (including Northwestern, Wisconsin, Michigan and Penn State) or Oregon's (including Washington, UCLA, Stanford and Oregon State) is easy street.

NOT SO FAST

I still don't see the connection.

Aside of BSU and Texas, Florida is the most over-hiped team next year. Get a clue and settle in to another year of crushed dreams, performing below expectations and Florading it.

I'm not sure about Florida being overhyped. That defense of theirs will almost always give them a chance to win.

But I agree with you on Boise and Texas. Phil Steele has UT #4 (I know they return most of their starters) and mags like Lindy's for instance have Boise at #11 even though they only return 8 starters from their worst football team in years. Maybe Phil may be a little closer to the mark on this one when he himself put Boise 33rd. We'll see. I'll tell you one thing, for Texas to be a top 5 to 10 type team they better get a hell of a lot better than they were on defense in 2012 real fast. And while it's improving lately their offense hasn't exactly been lighting it up either and they just lost Harsin. For Boise? They have to get way better on offense in a hurry if they want to be considered top 10 to 15 team next season. Zero offensive TDs against Michigan State and BYU last year is an embarrassment as is a loss to 9 and 4 San Diego State at home. Unacceptable.

You said you'd be on easy street with Ohio State's schedule, yet you got destroyed by Louisville, a 2 loss Big LEast team that lost to sub-.500 UConn and got stomped by Syracuse. Anything can happen. Florida could easily lose to several teams in the B1G this year.

That list is complete garbage. It says nothing about strength of schedule. It just shows the winning % of opponents. That can be altered dramatically by scheduling some 9-3 MAC teams in your OOC schedule vs scheduling 6-6 tough team from a BCS conference. NIU had a great record last year and could easily suck this year because they lose everyone but that 11-1 record gives their opponents a major boost.

Also... Your team winning 8 conference games actually punishes your strength of schedule according to this formula. Get what Im sayin?

every team you beat, your team goes down the list while the losing team goes up the list....

Yeah, SOS should probably be determined by subjective parameters.

The SOS things are a waste of time.
It just relies on raw W-L totals. And doesn't allow you to remove H-t-H when comparing 2 teams.

Compare Texas / Kansas for example:

1. Both play in the Big 12. Both have 9 games they cannot control. But, Texas looks like it schedules worse because they play 1-11 Kansas while the Jayhawks replace that with 9-4 Texas. Kansas sucks so bad that they drag everyone's schedule down.

2. Texas plays 10 bowl teams from 2012. Kansas plays 9 bowl teams.

3. OOC, Kansas plays South Dakota State (9-4 FCS), Louisiana Tech (9-3), and Rice (7-6).
Texas plays Ole Miss (6-6), @BYU (8-5), and NMSU (1-11).

The SOS completely ignore that SDSU is an FCS team. It ignores the fact that Ole Miss would crush both SDSU and Rice by 40 pts...probably beat LaTech as well.

It just tells us that FCS team SDSU is a better opponent than Ole Miss......???

So, it ends up showing Kansas with #5 schedule compared to Texas with a #62.
