I thought when Jay Mariotti left town, we were done with the asshole sports writers who hate their city so much and all their sports teams that they cant wait to bash their teams every chance they can get- whether for something real or imagined -Made up it many cases.
Isn't it time for Bernstien to ride the same train out of Chicago?
Hey Bernstien- how's that Patrick Sharp thing going? You can really tell how that" truth" from your " secret sources " is really tearing up the Hawks team!......he's usually wrong

Yeah... I don't see this as the Bears looking bad... They took a chance. Told him to keep his nose clean, he didn't- he's gone on day of. Accountability. They had set some expectations, Ray couldn't follow them- he's gone. Easy.

If the Bears waited or said something like: Let's see what the facts say...blah, blah, blah... Then yeah They would look stupid. At the very least, they now have another $1M in cap space. Anyone out there? 3-4 DE or Dline? Another body couldn't hurt.

Sorry, he had yet to make this team and yes losing Ray Mcdonald is a win for us especially today. It cost us zero and it gives us a better chance of finding a capable de. OTAs start this week and there will be no distractions and the players that deserve to be here will be given a chance to prove themselves.......

Losing a talented defensive lineman is not a win… holy shit.

Yes, the fact that there is no longer a wife beater on the team is great, but if he hadn't done that this morning. This team is in better shape.

he's a dick but he is usually right. he was 100% right on this one from the get go

Bernstein is an absolute clown. He wasn't right about shit.

Oh… wow! He said signing a guy with a domestic violence history was a bad move. Holy shit! What a profound thought!

As Cubz said, cost the team absolutely nothing. I'd sign Greg Hardy tomorrow.

we ate no money. None of his contract was guaranteed. Cost the team nothing, other than energy and attention of the coaches for a few weeks.

Whatever… we lost a talented player today.

Losing a piece of shit that players on the team didn't want around is a win.........talent isn't everything. If he had made the team and played 3 games and then did this...it would have been worse. It's a win that it happened and now we move on

Uh… He's extremely well liked by his coaches and teammates. You're just making shit up. He was arrested at his ex-teammate's house for chrissake. Fangio stuck his neck out for him. Why? Hmm… maybe because he enjoyed coaching him?

Just because a guy is violent in his personal life, that does not translate to; "his teammates hated him". Hell… Aaron Hernandez teammate's still stick up for him.

Again, we lost a good player today. The team now has a void to fill. That is, without question… a loss.

I don't think the Bears look bad in this deal.
They gave a bum a chance and it cost nothing so far in return.
Of course Ray Ray showed his true colors.

When? After the fact of the assault arrest. Even if my best friend got arrested for an assault charge on a woman, I'd say good riddance. So, no shit...

You are seriously just a stumbling dope right now, Leo.

To be honest, Rich, your posts in this thread indicate otherwise.

Name one point that I am making that is incorrect. Leo is talking nonsense which doesn't even have any relevance to the conversation (shocker). Such as the team's post-reaction to a domestic violence arrest. Lol… Oh my god, Leo! You mean the Bears personnel publicly reacted unfavorably to McDonald beating the shit out of his girlfriend? NOOOO WAY! I don't believe it!

My points are…

1 - The team lost a talented player and now have a void to fill at a position we are DESPERATE at. This does NOT make us a better football team.

2 - All indications say McDonald was well-liked by his coaches and teammates in San Francisco.

These aren't even arguments, they're known facts.

So how in the hell could I possibly be off-base in any way, shape or form?

I hate to say this, but McDonald isn't even yet proven guilty of anything. For all we know, he is getting totally fucked. Or he's a fuckhead. He's at least stupid enough to put himself in bad situations, sure, so him being off the team is probably OK. But it is also possible that his accuser is a batshit crazy taker. I don't know, and I don't care to. But I am not going to be among those acting all pious and mob-like about it. Too bad for him, too bad for us. I like Kyle Long, but he would be better off shutting his mouth.

Doesn't affect our non-existent 2015 Super Bowl chances either way, but it is too bad for him, and for any kids involved who I'm sure are getting used horribly by this whole insane process.

If you are upset about it, take it up with the stupid front office. They should've never signed his dumbass in the first place. Even with the talent he has, I have never liked the signing. Beating a woman is one of the most despicable things any man can do. Wait, I actually take that back. You aren't a man if you beat women.

Or he is just a 100% domestic violence abuser and needs to be put in jail....... we may never know.

This ain't San Fran...........of course when a player is on a team no one is going to come out and say they dislike them. It's obvious Kyle Long was one that does not like him and may have not liked him from the start. Point is, it is not a loss and this was the original point, that he is gone. plain and simple.

very much rather hang onto the cap space, there will be final cuts before week one that it would be nice to be ready for.
