Figured I'd drop a photo now and then. Eventually, I'm going to be able to post a pointing pic. When we got him, in late January, he was slightly smaller than the Yorkie.
Sounds about right... They grow like weeds at that ageThanks.
He's a terrific dog. Growing by inches a day it seems.
I bet you can make a pointing machine out of him. You would sure be welcome.Well that's a kind offer Neb...let's see what kind of a bird dog I can make of him!
He's starting to get the feathering on his tail. Couldn't be sweeter to walk with in the woods. Keeps checking in and never runs out of sight.
How is your pup doing ? Are you starting his formal training yet ?He's starting to get the feathering on his tail. Couldn't be sweeter to walk with in the woods. Keeps checking in and never runs out of sight.
Cute dog. I use labs for pheasant. Pointers work okay but I hunt wild birds in a large area that are smart. Those birds run like hell. The labs trail them well.

That is awesome !Cool....you must do a lot of runnin' and gunnin'!
Just starting to Neb. I'm almost done constructing a pigeon trap and I have a local farm that's gonna let me set it out. Hopefully, I'll have a supply of birds to release in front of him. Honestly, he's so good about staying in range and obeying commands already that I'm really excited about how fine of a dog I can make of him. He turned exactly 4 months today. He's as well behaved as any adult dog I've owned; truly remarkable.

LOL, pheasants on private ag lands are almost gone in california. Populations very low in most areas of the state. I hunt on the state refuges. They are large areas of grasslands and if the conditions are dry, those birds run like hell. I've seen twenty or thirty roosters run and jump way out in front of the people driving. Not like the planted birds on some of the clubs around here. You have to kick them to get them to flush.
I may have to leave central MA to come on down and grab a few pheasants over that beauty.
