Wanting a New Gun Dog

It's Puppy eve!!!

Picked up Whip yesterday afternoon to beat the snowstorm. His adjustment is absolutely astounding. Within 20 minutes of being "home" it was like he'd been raised here. He's the most affectionate little guy, rolling around snuggling. Then he'd tear ass around...he's a bird dog alright. Kept me up a lot all night but he's curled up at my feet right now and he's the cutest puppy I have ever seen!

Thanks guys...he's been a little doll and even slept through the night last night. Of course, I was sleeping beside his crate!

Funny that I just noticed that I started this thread about looking into getting a Llewellin on 12/23 and we ended up picking up the pup exactly one month later on 1/23.

I feel lucky to have stumbled upon an excellent breeder that was close by.

After having to put my Brittany down this fall, I'm contemplating a new pup in the upcoming year. Been researching LLewellen setters and leaning toward one of these stunners:

They're so beautiful and I def want to stick with a pointer. Nothing cooler than a bird locked down under point.

I feel your pain Homer. I had to put my Chocolate Lab down last year. Best hunting dog I ever had. Well trained with the help of Richard Wolters Method, luv his books.

Shit boomer, sorry to hear that. It's always more painful when it's your hunting buddy.

I do a lot of goose and duck hunting so I always wanted a water dog but upland hunting is in my heart so I went with another pointing breed. He's a real doll but holy shit is a puppy exhausting!

Maybe you'll be ready to get another pup soon~
