Jason Kelce officially retires. Will be interesting to see how the brotherly shove works without him there. He's a great guy and will be fine, but from a football standpoint the Eagles didn't exactly need another hurdle to overcome. That's a giant hole they have to fill now.

Not to take anything away from Jason Kelce , but Jason Kelce is one of Jeff Stoutland's finest products and Jeff Stoutland is still here.

RW cut from the Donkeys, as expected.

Now the real fun begins..does Sean Peyton have a target he'll hope drops to 12, does he trade up, or perhaps he really gambles and trades back, assuming that target will fall even further?

And, what becomes of RW? surely he takes a team out of the running for dealing for Fields, and given the amount of teams that would likely be willing to deal for Fields to start with, the Bears can't afford to have anyone drop out of the market if they expect anything more than a day 2 pick for him

Sadly, a distinct possibility. I hope not, but i also hope they don't trade for Fields. I'm not sure what they SHOULD do at QB this year, but honestly I'd rather tread water with O'Connell than make a real commitment to any of the FA options, and Fields is going to be more expensive than he's worth.

If someone doesn't fall to 13, or if they don't trade up..I truly hope they simply move forward with what they've got.

Honestly I'm hoping they make a smaller deal for Mac Jones after NE selects their new guy in the top 3. Grab a Spencer Rattler or M. Pratt later in the draft, let them and O'Connell battle it out in '24, try again next year if needed. RW is likely an improvement, but he's not what's going to beat the Chiefs, or any other decent team. But he's good enough to win enough games to keep you out of the top ten in draft position, so what's the point in signing him as a stopgap or bridge?

Vegas needs a full reset trade Adams and anyone else worth decent draft capital and start hitting that college tape hard..for all positions. there should be no one on this team over the age of 28

My money is on the Falcons signing WIlson. A Shanny/McVay disciple like Robinson and a defensive minded coach like Morris might see the value in whatever his remaining RPO game might have left in driving a strong rushing attack, and RW can still toss a beautiful play action pass..if the run game is working - he just can't read a defense or manage progressions form the pocket. And I think given the offensive talent they have on that team, they'd prefer to have a vet QB vs a rookie, where by the time that kid is rolling, the skill guys are up for extensions. And they have a winnable division-if they have a competent QB..Vegas does not

I think Cousins is the first domino. You can reasonably sell the idea that he can have a playoff run.

From there its probably Fields, then Russ.

Raiders full-reset and trade Adams makes sense. Keeping Adams...Russ..I could see that happening.

Locally, it went from "many teams may be interested in Fields" to a sudden "Bears will be lucky to get a 3rd round pick for him."

There are a good 10 teams with a lousy QB. Fields didnt help is value by not improving year to year. But my guess is desperation may drive his asking price up. (If thats the direction da Bears go.)

If I'm Kwesi, I give the Bears a 1st rounder for Fields immediately.

10 teams- I would buy that

6 QB projected to be 1st rounders (5 not counting the one in Chic)
Free agents-
Cousins
RW

Tannyhill
Flacco
Brisset
Darnold
Minshew
Bridgewater
Tyrod Taylor

Likely addition to the list available later
Mac Jones
Garrapolo

That's about 15 QB's that a team could, at worst, 'make due' with rather than paying a premium of any kind for Feilds. And we're not even counting the Trubisky's, Zac Wilson's, of the world.

I don't see a fever pitched market for Feilds unless there's 2 teams just in love with him.. which I find hard to believe given what he's presented in the feild thus far in his career.

A #2 at best, but I tend to agree, a 3rd is more likely

Teams with lousy (or no) QB, or, at minimum, expected to make a change-
Washington
NE
Tenn
Atl.
Minn
Denver
Vegas
Pitt
And maybe Clev but doubtful

8 for sure, not counting Chicago, maybe 9 if you want to give Clev. a 'yes'. Its hard to speculate many more.

At least 4-5 of them drafting their, hopefully, QB of the future in the first.
2 signing RW or Cousins

Doesn't leave much

I would be shocked if Chicago does not get a 2nd rounder for him.

Yeah but even if some of those teams draft a non-top 3 QB in the NFL draft they could be inclined to throw a future pick for Fields. Never a bad thing to have two young guys competing for the starting job. Worst case your rookie sits and learns

I don't see any benefit with Fields in CLE. Watson is the starter. The Browns would have to give up possibly their best pick for a backup and Fields is only playing if Watson gets injured or completely shits the bed.

If Denver does not get their QB with their pick I could see them trading for Fields also the Raiders and Vikings makes some sense. Apparently, the Vikings could have interest in Lance too

My VERY early QB predictions:

Chicago - Williams (obviously)
Washington - Daniels
NE - Maye
Tenn - stick with Levis
Atl. - Cousins
Minn - Fields
Denver - Penix
Vegas - McCarthy
Pitt - Wilson

Yea, I can't buy a team investing their #1 on a QB AND bringing in Justin Feilds. Sam Darnold, sure, Tyrod Taylor, sure. A mentor, a bridge, absolutely, I think that's a great plan. But another young guy, who you traded for no less?? I can't see that working. And do you really want your rookie QB sitting and learning behind Feilds, who hasn't been taught how to be an NFL QB yet himself??

Plus, you traded for Feilds, now your invested to a certain extent, right? So your picking up his 5th year option, immediately. Now you've got a minimum of two years of Fields while your 'cheap' rookie contract on your first round QB just sits and man's the clipboard.

Then.. the offense you have to run to take advantage of Feilds skill set, vs the one you could run with virtually anyone else..is your rook learning anything anyways??

I would assume that with the #2 pick, they'd be taking thier "QB of the future" in the draft. I wouldn't anticipate them trading/signing a FA (other than a vet 'mentor' maybe)

I don't think they are worried about him too much lol. If Minny offers a 2nd I don't think it matters if they think they have a franchise QB in Williams.
