Great win for Detroit. I'm very impressed with their young players and Goff played pretty damn well.

It's a long season. The Chiefs will be at or near the top of the heap at the end of the year. Mahomes and Reid will see to that. Not having Kelce made a big difference but it was smart to not try to play him in game 1, in my opinion. Going for it on 4th and 25 was a head scratcher but Andy Reid is still a great coach.

Just mostly excited that football is back!

Rare both teams are winners trade. Rams got a SB, Lions got a very good QB and some draft capital that helped the turaround.
Loved that trade for our Lions then and now. Only Goff has made an impact for us so far, but there’s a lot more talent on the roster thanks to that deal.

But yeah, nobody can take away their Lombardi.

Just remind him how many draft picks they gave up for Russ
All the great draft picks in the world don’t matter if your team doesn’t produce with them.

In the end, Denver could look as bad in this trade as you guys did in the Jamal Adams trade, or one could come out ahead, only time will tell.

I'll always admit the Jamaal Adams trade was horrible and maybe Russ will actually play better if he stops giving a shit about his image and get back to what made his great but I'm not so sure with Ciara in his ear.

Russ has to have an elite running game to lean on in order to be successful. He's (at least used to be) a very good QB that wants to think he's an elite QB - which he never was.

Toney played like ass and couldn't catch shit, but you gotta also blame Andy Reid for all those jet sweeps on second and third down and short.

They didn't want to run up the gut and everybody knew they were throwing when Mckinnon came in.

Dumbass coaching.

Detroit deserved the win.

Good game to start the season. Toney lost that game more than the lions won it imo. I will say though the lions gonna be a tough out for anyone.

Andy got too cute and it's part of what cost them.

See I disagree. Yes he had Lynch but the rest of his RBs in Seattle have been consistently banged up. He was an elite QB for many years making plays through the air and using his legs moving the chains/scoring TDs. What you've seen over the last several years is Russ slowing down and of course last year hitting rock bottom. Maybe Sean Payton can find the fountain of youth for Russ but he'll never get back to that same level from his earlier days.

Chiefs need to stop pretending they lost because Kelce was out, their receivers did well except one guy.

Toney played like crap... but I've said in a few posts here and I'm sure I'll get the 'boo/hiss/JEALOUS?" comment, but Mahomes to me didn't play great either. A lot of his throws (even when caught) were behind receivers. He made some great runs with his legs and of course his signature sidearm pass, but his downfield throws were a bit off.

I know you're in the NFL and being paid millions so catching a pass that's thrown behind you is somewhat expected, but he didn't help his receivers in that regard. Also, the call that was a DPI downfield was also thrown behind. Sutton still drew the flag (correct call) but had the ball been laid out in front further it would've been a TD.... Sutton was beat big time.

Everyone will blame Toney because Mahomes is perfect and can't do anything wrong, but Mahomes was def. off IMO... Wonder if the ankle is still bothering a bit.

Also, it didn't seem like the Lions blitzed as much and that is the correct thing to do against Mahomes. When you blitz him he destroys teams. I saw the Lions mostly rushing 4 and playing heavy zone which is really one of the few ways to beat him.

That INT for pick 6 was grave error by receiver but defensive play was spot on. That is not an easy INT. Great play there.

He's done this before. He was excellent 2017-2018 as well. Just has to have the talent around him.
He has to believe that the OL will protect him. When he does believe it he plays really well, (even if the OL isn't protecting him). Conversely if he doesn't believe in the OL his play deteriorates, even if his protection is great.

...and don't put him in a 5-wide set.
