KC front office already in the back offices trying to figure out what WR’s they can afford to trade for before the trade deadline.

Lions set the tone early on faking punt that led to early TD. Message that it would not be easy.

And Keeping Toney looks worse that Taylor
Won a Super Bowl partially because of Toney. Him and Skyy Moore now in the same boat in terms of being unreliable gimmick guys.

I do think there is some merit to people suggesting Taylor was getting away with stuff on the OL. He was the GMs big offseason move.

I mean that was an atrocious performance but a lot of Mahomes' throws were behind receivers and not quite on the mark tonight as well. I can't put ALL the blame on the receivers. Even that deep ball with the DPI (which was DPI) the receiver had to slow down a bit to make a play. He had Sutton beat 100% if Mahomes laid out the ball further it probably would've gone for six.

Mahomes was a little off tonight. He still made plenty of plays and still abuses teams with his classic sidearm throw... but it wasn't his best performance. Detroit is improved but they were the worst defense in the NFL last year... I know you're without the best TE in the game, but still..

I don't think they'll bench Toney just yet and if Kelce comes back next week everything could change.

And holy shit does Jawaan Taylor have nude pics of the refs' wives/girlfriends or something?

They let him get away with it until the late 4th. Then they punished him hard

I think the Chiefs will be fine, but Toney almost single handily cost them the game. The dropped pass that led to the pick six, the dropped pass in the red zone that force them to settle for a FG, and the dropped pass on the last drive that would’ve put them in FG range. I don’t remember a receiver ever having a worse game to be honest, that’s how awful he was. And some of the play calling was questionable.

So I guess the Chiefs are in last place. In the entire NFL right now! :becky:

Agreed I think we'll be fine in the long run. But your post pretty much sums it up...

Chiefs blew the game, but the Lions are a scrappy team I can see winning 10 games and maybe a playoff game.

Mahomes seemed a little off too. I know he's missing the best TE in the league (and possibly NFL history) but a lot of his passes were behind receivers and even on the deep bomb, that's a TD if the receiver didn't have to slow down and the ball was further out in front (Sutton was beat hard).

Detroit had the worst defense in the NFL last year and it really wasn't because of huge injuries. It's not like the Chiefs were going against some behemoth defense like San Fran/Buffalo/Philly.

If Lions would have lost that, they would have kicked themselves all the way back to Detroit for not giving Gibbs more touches. He looks electric.
