Mike Geisiki to New England..
Now, I'm not saying, but I'm just sayin'...
Last time Bill O'Brian was OC in New England, Gronk and Hernandez caught 170 balls, for 2200 yards and 24 TD's.
Obviously Squishy Mac ain't Brady, and Hunter Henry/Geisiki ain't Gronk/Hernandez.
However...you can put 2 and 2 together and see the direction they're trying to go.

Btw- the RB'S - a garbage collection/MASH unit of BJGE, Vareen, Ridley, and Woodhead, rushed for 1400 and 15.

Just sayin'
Or he's jonnu smith. Seems like they murdered the aaron hernandez role in that offense.:yo:

Maybe he could replace some of Jakobi's work in the slot.

Just going out and getting players on short-term and 1 year deals like last year...I don't know if this is his way of staying competitive/relevant until they get their QB. Thought it would be Mac after his rookie year now they just have a couple question marks. They have good depth and I love Stevenson but just a collection. Like you said, this is fine if you have Brady but they don't. They will be around .500 maybe better but I think BB wants to just keep his team relevant. Unlikely to find his QB of the future unless Mac has a resurgence.

Ok so Foreman is no longer sitting by the phone. Nice signing for Da Bears, but it taps the brakes pretty hard on a Khalil Herbert season
Well, for starters, i dont want to draft any Bears in fantasy. Maybe Fields.
But it seems like the way Poles is building the team, he is adding depth. Whether it is a 50/50 split or even a 70/30 split, i think Poles wants to see what he has in Herbert. If he doesnt cut it, at least the Bears have depth.

I would imagine Herbert still ends up leading in touches, he just no longer has that potential of being the 'bell cow'. Should still be a good year for him, this just caps it, especially the TD potential, Foreman is a quality power back, quite possible he ends up scoring more rushing TD's than Herbert

yea, hard to say. Like i have been discussing with others, here and coworkers and whatnot..

just how do you gauge Mac Jones given the debacle he had to deal with last year with defensive coordinator by trade Matt Patricia calling the offense? Honestly, what kind of stock can you truly put into what Mac Jones did or didn't do last year? we give passes to young QB's all the time with the tired old excuses like- well he had 3 different systems in 4 years, so lets see what he does with some stability- type stuff. Surely we need to extend that same slack to Squishy Mac when he didn't have an offensive coordinator for his sophomore year, don't we?
And what did he have to work with as a rookie? Kendrick Bourne and Jakobi Meyers? and he fed them 800 yards each, as a rookie, with multiple games under 20 passing attempts, one game with just 3!!. I gotta beleive the potential is there for him to be a solid QB and I just can't find a way to hold last year's numbers against him.

I'm in no way saying he's going to be great, if the Patriots make a deep playoff run with him, it'll likely be because they surrounded him with a very good D and a strong running game, but I think he's good enough o be that kind of guy, good enough that they won't be looking for new QB's in the near future.

if the Patriots make a deep playoff run with him
Thats a tall order imo. Thats a real competitive division. Its conceivable the Pats finish 4th.

I would see the touches being about like Pollard and Zeke were last year. With Foreman being a little better in the Zeke role and Herbert being a little worse in the Pollard role.

I was speaking only in the hypothetical. As in- IF they happen to succeed in any way with Jones at the helm, it will be because they surrounded him with a good D and a good run game. I'm not predicting it, although I could see them compete for a wild card, depending on the Jet's/Rodgers deal, and if the Phins can keep Tua on the field.

Kind of a surprise cut to me.

One full week into free agency.
Notable names still out there at RB

Zeke
Fournette (probably)
K. Hunt
D. Harris
Singletary
R. Jones
McKinnon
K. Drake

Teams that still need a RB-
not even gonna mention the Phins (oops just did)
Bills- is James Cook really the only Rb of note on that roster going forward? 'Everyone' has said they need a RB for 2 years, now they actually do.
Bengals-lost Perine
Browns- filling Hunt's spot in house or no?
Jag's- good with Etienne and Hasty or should they upgrade that #2 given Etienne's stature?
Chiefs- currently only Pacheco and CEH on the team, and we know they've moved on from CEH (side note- would they bring Hunt back?)
Chargers? do they actually trade Ekeler?
VIkings? see above with Cook^
Buc's- need to replace Fournette and White/Edmonds ain't getting it done
Saints- do they just push forward with J. Williams and no compliment? Given the cap situation my guess is draft is more likely if they do add
Falcons- I dunno that Algeier is the answer, but RB is no big priority there, much bigger things to worry about
Rams- Akers, another season removed from his Achilles-is he the guy that ran over teams who had already mailed it in or otherwise sucked at the end, or the guy who couldn't get 3 yards a carry the previous 12 weeks and needs replaced?

Texans busy, signing Schultz & Singeltary.

Not good news for Singeltary owners but its not like we didnt see it coming. He was trending down for a while.

Not great news for D Pierce owners either. The key to his value was zero competition for touches..so much for that. Sure he likely retains the touch lead, but that's significantly better competition for touches than say, Sexy Rexy was

Damien Harris to Buffalo..finally someone made a move that makes sense. Haven't seen a good one since Sander to CAR and Penny to Philly.

Singletary and Schultz to Texans ...... one RB off your list
Take Harris off the list also. I was starting to wonder why it was taking so long.

Same...K. Hunt is the last guy that might make a big change to a depth chart. Don't know if Zeke and/or Fournette change much wherever they go, guess it depends on where that is.

I am partial to D'Ernest Johnson. When Hunt and Chubb were hurt, he filled in phenominally!
Was actually hoping that the Bears would go after him after Monty signed with Detroit.
Wherever Johnson ends up, he'll probably steal the gig.

Somewhat of a dark horse with potential, fer sure.

My hangup on him? He's not gonna be expensive so if he had/has that sort of potential, why don't/didn't the Brownies resign him themselves?

Hunt is the most important for my Old School team. I’d love a Chiefs reunion, but I also have Pacheco on that team, so I’d prefer elsewhere…

I really don't think that one will matter after the draft and a highly rated rook comes on board. Yea, I'm thinking it's gonna be that guy.
