A report today that the Eagles are interested in talking extension sooner as opposed to later. They may have something done by the Eagles bye which I think is like week 6 or 7.
If the eagles are deciding, he is the future. Then do it sooner than later.A report today that the Eagles are interested in talking extension sooner as opposed to later. They may have something done by the Eagles bye which I think is like week 6 or 7.
This is a compelling argument. I think getting in on him early has benefits. In theory, maybe you can get a team friendly deal. If he continues to produce dude could end up costing you 35-40 mil a season. I think they can get 25-30 done now if they guarantee half. Like 150-180 for 6 and guarantee of 75-90. They likely have room to put some of that on this year’s cap if they act soon. The real commitment there is 3 years of cap but control for 6.If the eagles are deciding, he is the future. He'll be on his final year, next year. So, it is the time to do it if they are doing it.
Can use the cheap year to help with the absorption of the extension. That will give you his rights for the next 6 years most likely.
At the same time, I chose see more data. I’m still pretty smitten with the idea of Bryce Young or Marcus Stroud. I want to see how the best league with the best defensive minds in the world reacts to the step forward he has made and how he handles it before I’m sold. Drafting QBs is always risky business but I think the prospects in this upcoming draft hold a ton of promise. This is a compelling argument. I think getting in on him early has benefits. I think the days of long-term contracts being under 30 mil are long over for QBs. You'd be lucky to get them under 40 mil nowadays. This is a compelling argument. well the good news for you is. This year is what it is. So you do have time this year to see if he can keep it up or not.At the same time, I chose see more data. 25-30M now? This is a compelling argument. I think getting in on him early has benefits. In theory, maybe you can get a team friendly deal. Kind of agree. When that negotiation gets north of 32/33 per I’m definitely in the need more data column more solidly.I think the days of long-term contracts being under 30 mil are long over for QBs. You'd be lucky to get them under 40 mil nowadays.
Then I definitely need more data.25-30M now?
LMFAO. If the Eagles sign him early, they can get him for 45M per, of they wait and he progresses he's getting 55M per.
Kyler Murray just got 45M per. I doubt Hurts takes less, especially with how he's playing at the moment. Then I definitely need more data.

Yikes. I really shit the bed on this one.He isn't eligible for an extension until after this season.
Hope you're right with this takeHas anyone in the NFL guaranteed himself more money in the future from these 3 games to start the season than Hurts? Doubtful. With how he has performed and the talent he has around him, he can cruise to a $45m annual offer and only play as well as he did last year for the rest of this year after how he started in these 1st 3 games.
LOLPhilly has a history of looking to lock guys down sooner rather than later, so I suspect they will do that. But I think it is risky. Hurts has been great so far this season, but very small sample size. I would wait personally, but it is true that his price tag will likely only go up from here if he continues to ball out. And you don't want a Dak/Cousins situation where he ends up getting the franchise tag because you didn't lock him up sooner.
This is different. Don't ask me how, but it's different.LOL
first you twisted the running QB in Dallas
You had a daily field day with Dak's contract.
And now...
