Added RW and a bunch of vets and a few youngsters to fill out the bench.
Think AD is prepared for an MVP type season with 2 passers like James and RW. If he stays healthy and can play 72-74 games. The Lakers will have the most success with Lebron having the ball in his his hands the most, but with AD as the #1 scoring option.
Ultimately, assuming the Lakers stay healthy, the role players will determine the success. We know what we're likely to get from Lebron and AD...and we know what Westbrook can do. But if their ends up being a bunch of tension and issues with the role players (some of them will be looking at playing the fewest minutes of their careers), that could derail things as easily as injuries.
He just doesn’t have a track record of being able to come close to that though. I agree he is going to get tons of easy buckets.Think AD is prepared for an MVP type season with 2 passers like James and RW. If he stays healthy and can play 72-74 games.

Yes, but Shaq was very cool. That's a little overblown.
His first 4 years in the league he averaged 65 games per season.
He played in 75 games each in years 5 and 6.
In his 7th and final year in New Orleans he played in 56 games. The majority of the games he missed that season were the Pelicans holding him out after the trade stuff started.
Bubble year he played in 62 games. Don't remember how many total games were played.
Last year, he played in 36 games.
You'd like to see him average closer to the number of games he played in years 5 and 6. But really, if he's in the 65-75 games range and is healthy for the playoffs...I think most Lakers fans will be just fine with it.
By way of comparison...when Shaq was with the Lakers...the most games he ever played in was 79, which he did once. He also had a 73 games season. Other than that, he ranged from 49-67 games each season.

I think at his age.....James will be the #3 option and save himself for the 4th quarter, He will be 37 and I think he realizes he can't do it all like he has most of his career. I think that's what he, AD and RW talked about when they met before the trade went down. You know what the big 3 can do when healthy. Obviously, chemistry may be an issue, especially if RW ends up being the 3rd option and he doesn’t accept that role.
but, the success of the team come down to the role players. How well do they play together. What is the 2nd unit going to be like? Do they finally have enough 3 pt shooting? Where will the defense rank?
these things will determine the success of the Lakers season.
He did in his 5th and 6th seasons. He just doesn’t have a track record of being able to come close to that though. I agree he is going to get tons of easy buckets.
