Restaurants are still open here. Grocery stores are still open, but stocks are low on some things.

Went to WalMart Neighborhood Market yesterday and there was no toilet paper and no paper towels.

They were also out of lunch meats, wasn't much in the way of chicken, beef or pork. But most of the rest of the store was still pretty well stocked, including bread, tortillas etc.

Most important....I got my Guinness and corned beef and cabbage for tonight.

Not wanting to get all political here. But this bullshit of trying to blame all of this on Trump needs to stop.

There is plenty of blame to go around.

Starting with the Chinese government that first covered it up, then denied it, then downplayed it (all the while allowing their citizens to travel all over the world) before finally admitting they had a problem.

Then there's the World Health Organization who were downplaying it and encouraging open borders as it was initially spreading and called Trump restricting travel an overreaction.

Then of course, here in America, he was called a racist for it.

This is not to say that he has handled it perfectly, he downplayed it himself even as he was restricting travel. It also looks like we're behind on having enough tests. I don't know as that is entirely on him considering the downplaying that was being done initially, but development and production of tests and vaccines probably should have been ramped up at least a bit. I don't recall him calling for that.

Even though he is technically correct, he needs to stop referring to it as the "Chinese Virus". There are too many people who want to claim he's a racist, so it plays right into their hands.

Besides, another poster on tHoop came up with a much better name..."Kung Flu".

And the panic buying idiots, while entertaining, are actually creating the very shortages that they are so afraid of.

This is a bad take, IMO.

It's sad that we've reached this level as a society. Not saying you're wrong, because you're right.

please tell us why, everything he said was true.

I'm trying to avoid interjecting on political avenues because at the end of the day, nothing I can say will ever shift your opinion on the matter. But in a nutshell, TJ's post was just political blame shifting. Saying someone else did something better or worse, does not negate what this administration has done. That's like coming home to your parents and saying you got a D on your report card, but don't worry mom and dad there were some other kids in the class who got F's. So you're in much better shape.

Also the racism part is LOL. You (not you particularly, but in general) trying to tell the offended party to not be offended at something offensive to them, is ridiculous. The offended party gets to decide what is or what is not racist, not the other way around.

Also particularly disappointed in @trojanfan12 for repeating the Kung-Flu and additionally associated it with Asians, but that's my issue.

My dude. Trump literally spent two months calling this a hoax to make him look bad, refused testing kits, saying stuff like it was contained and numbers were going down when they weren't, would be over by April, saying there was plenty of testing for everyone when there wasn't, encouraging everyone to go out into crowds and engage, and literally every other thing that was the exact opposite of what health experts and some of his own government health officials were saying. He's somehow managed to screw up details even in prepared statements such as screwing up details of the European travel ban saying cargo was cutoff when it wasn't or saying insurance companies agreed to waive fees for treatment (they hadn't. SOME agreed to waive fees for TESTING) or stuff like saying Google had a nationwide website ready to go when in reality it was just a subsidiary of Google's parent company had a website that was intended for health care officials in SF to use but will now be used for the public in SF and may expand to nationwide later. He has been doing everything he can to downplay and distract. He changed his tune like yesterday.

He 100% deserves every bit of roasting coming his way

If a dem. was in office & did exactly what Trump has done I wonder what some opinions would be. And let's not forget that Trump has already said he takes zero responsibility/accountability for his own slow actions. In other words- nothing is ever Trump's fault. Which is bizarre & incorrect.

I support no party or politician. Democrat, Republican or anything else it makes no difference to me. I think all politicians bullshit artists. For me this isn't about which side anyone stands on. But for the republican party to try & pass the blame to the democrats is pathetic. They can't even acknowledge the mistakes Trump has made.

Is that stuff actually good? Steel Reserve is horrid so I'm highly suspect of their flavored offerings

I used to drink the SR 211 in the midwest.....nasty. The flavored ones are dangerous because you can barely taste any alcohol.
